I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday tonight and when we got there, we were told we could sit at the bar or have about 30 minutes at a table before another reservation was going to take the table. We love the atmosphere and the food, but it would be good to stop accepting reservations if we’re just going to be sat at the bar, or at least be informed that we are being sat at the bar for our reservation.
This place is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is funky, cool, eclectic and cozy! The food was absolutely phenomenal. Appetizers, entrées and citrus cake and chocolate cake desserts were on point!! We couldn’t believe how wonderful everything was. We will 100% be back and recommend to all of our friends and family. Highly recommend for a great date night.

Food and service were top-notch, especially the food. My wife had a beef short rib, and I had a Cobb salad; they were both great, and they accommodated a substitution in the salad that I requested with zero problem. I had a delicious Old Fashioned. Our dessert, a bourbon torte, was also wonderful. I wish we lived closer so that we could become regulars!

Extraordinary service. Attentive and helpful. Even provided special care for my 90 yo parents. The food was delicious. Atmosphere received 4 stars only because it was not for me, but it may be right for you. I am noise sensitive and we were inside the tavern, but past experience is that the outdoor “tents” are wonderful: warm and quiet. Wine by the glass of higher quality, to match and pair with the food, is the only missing piece.
Dietary restrictions: Extra helpful and proactive in catering to my dairy allergy.

We recently hosted a large party of about 35 people at West Side Tavern, and we were absolutely blown away. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The owner, Wes, is an outstanding host whose hospitality is unmatched. He worked closely with us to create a set course menu that incorporated elements of our heritage, which made the evening even more special. The food was fantastic, with incredible quality in every dish.
The staff at West Side Tavern are true professionals—friendly, attentive, and on point throughout the night. They made sure everything ran smoothly and created a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
The cocktails were on par with what you’d expect from an upscale establishment in a major city, adding to the overall experience.
West Side Tavern is a true gem, and we feel so lucky to have such a wonderful spot right here in our town. Highly recommended!

I made a reservation for a table for 2. When I arrived I waited a while before the host arrived and then when I told her I had a reservation, she looked around the restaurant confused as if I’d just walked in and said we could squeeze into community seating or wait an optimistic 20 minutes for the table I reserved. Add in the 5 minutes it took for a single employee to make eye contact with me and you’re talking a half hour delay with no apology. We left.
Update: I appreciate the owner taking the care to respond immediately. I understand the weight of a 1-star review and try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. I get that it hurts, but this reservation was for a special occasion with my husband and the disappointment really hurt me too. We’d been looking forward to it, I picked out a new dress and everything, and this took the fun out of an occasion I’ll never get a do-over on.
I’ve worked in restaurants, especially as a host, and I really do understand that sometimes things get tough to balance no matter how much planning you do ahead of time. However, whenever I found myself in that position, I apologized profusely, and if it was going to be that long I offered to comp them a drink while they waited at the bar. That would’ve taken a lot of the sting out of it and would certainly have given me a better impression and a very different review.
I promise that I don’t take bad reviews lightly and don’t try to use them as a weapon; I just thought others would appreciate knowing that a reservation wasn’t reliable in my experience.

This place is one of the only things I miss about the United States. I've been gone for almost two years now and I still think about this little spot in Longmont, Colorado. Good food, great drinks, and great owner (What's up, Wes?!). Thanks for being a good memory.
