Love the Plum Sake and sushi here. This is a family owned place and the service was great.

Overpriced for what it is. Hours seem very limited. We have tried to go multiple times and it is closed. Food is ok along with the service. I don’t think we will be back.

Waited about 40 minutes to get our sushi. Place was completely empty, staff was extremely slow and could tell they didn’t care. Had a few pieces of sushi, quality is very low for the 4.4 stars they have. Would never go back. Barely ate any food. Girlfriend has severe stomach pain from a few bites. Meh.

I was surprised to find authentic, high quality sushi in Downtown Louisville. Excellent dining experience. Highly recommend it!

My husband and I find this to be our favorite go to restaurant on Friday evenings. The food is always fresh and the sushi is wonderful.

Wanted to love this place. It’s cute and set up for success. We were the second table in the restaurant Saturday night - family of four. It took us 1.5 hours to get our main meal and we were served after people who came in later than us. The place was maybe 2/3 capacity so the timing issues are a big red flag.Food was good quality and waitress was also professional / thoughtful. This is a poorly managed place like what is noted in a lot of reviews below.

Love this place, it's a little small but they people there are friendly and accommodating. The food was great. I went a little overboard with the ordering but it was worth it.

Cute place. Decent sushi. Terrible management. It was a full restaurant with only one chef/cook in the kitchen. Yes, 1! guy in the kitchen with no help. Our rolls took nearly an hour to come out. We decided to order a couple more and they told us it would take another hour!! I've been going to sushi restaurants for over 20 years and never has my order taken more than 20 minutes. If they only have one guy working the kitchen then they should seat the counter only and turn everyone else away. Don't screw your patrons because you can't staff a restaurant properly.

Best sushi in Louisville/Lafayette by far! Cozy inside and authentic preparation of rolls and main dishes.

They may have just had a bad night, but the sushi was really below average. Undercooked rice, poor presentation, and the fish did not taste fresh. We were there at 6:00 on a Saturday night and we were one of two parties there. Maybe that should have been our first clue. Plenty of better sushi options out there.

Sushi Yoshi is legit and authentic. I think you can judge a sushi restaurant by the quality of its rice - and Sushi Yoshi’s rice is to die for. They also have a few vegan options to choose from. The avocado & sundried tomato maki and the tofu pocket maki (w/o tamago) are my absolute favorites!! De-li-cious!!!

I love Ramen noodles, and was excited to try the Sunday Ramen noodle night at Sushi Yoshi. I liked the food, but my overall experience was terrible because of rude service from the owner or manager. I am Asian as well, I have worked at many Asian restaurants and I know the difference between a language barrier and rudeness. I will definitely not be back. Here is my story.A group of four walked in before us, a lady, most likely the owner, seated them and walked back to the front. After a long standing silence (I thought she may be busy marking down the table), I asked, "Can we get a table for four with one high chair?" She simply answered, "we are full.", period, short and rude. I waited a bit longer thinking she would continue the conversation, but nothing. I then politely asked if we could get on a waiting list, as in most restaurants. She answered, "Are you sure? It will be a while since we are full", again short and rude. I got a very strong sense that we were not welcome at all. We asked to take two small tables - one for me and my 20-month old toddler on for my husband with my 4-year-old son.Our waitress was nice, she took our orders but forgot to take the menu; not a big deal. While we were waiting for our food, the owner walked by, saw the menu on the table, and asked me "Did you order?'' I said we did, to which she answered, word for ford, "Why is this menu still with you?", again with a very rude attitude. It made me feel as if she was accusing me of trying to steal the menu. If I was not with my toddler and my 4 year-old, who was very excited for ramen, I would have left.I wanted to share my soup and California roll combo with my toddler, so I asked for an extra small bowl. The waitress told me the extra empty bowl would be $2. This was the funniest and most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in a restaurant! $2 FOR AN EMPTY BOWL TO SHARE NOODLES WITH MY TODDLER! I felt bad for the waitress who had to tell me that - I clearly felt she was embarrassed. The waitress did bring me a FREE EXTRA SPOON, haha. From the beginning, I felt we were not welcome, and were treated curtly. I overheard four customers walk in after us, and the owner/manager asked them immediately "how many?", then explained they were busy, so there may be a longer wait than usual, and she guided them to wait at the back. Our treatment was starkly different.Back to the food: very pricey, taste was decent. I liked the noodle texture, thick and chewy; the broth was decent, not the best, but authentic. Based on the food I'd give it 4 stars.

Sushi Yoshi is hands down the most authentic sushi spot in the Lafayette/Louisville area. The fish is incredibly fresh and everything is very clean. The staff is very nice as well. I always get the bento boxes. It's a nice quiet restaurant, on the small side. Perfect for a 1:1 lunch date.

The poor service could have been overlooked but the prepping of the ingredients was sorely lacking (most of my California roll was cucumber) and the rolls fell apart easily when picked up. Unfortunately this was celiac friendly as far as I can tell but the service/food was lacking so much that I won't be coming back. Also, I have never heard of a sushi restaurant charging for ginger/wasabi. We got 5 rolls and were given ginger/wasabi for maybe 2 rolls and told more would cost us. That is not acceptable. I've literally never been charged for ginger/wasabi before.
