Chicken fried steak is A++

Don’t let the modest exterior deter you. Delicious home style food, glad we stopped here.
Food and drinks: I had the mountain man. I would pass on that next time. The rest of the food is good and I would go back. Just saying that burger is a bit out of my taste range. I like to try new things and this was not for me.

This place in amazing. NEVER had anything that wasn't delicious! And I have "never" have had the same thing twice. However, the Catfish on Sunday was so wonderful, I will probably have to do it time and time again! Raised on the Texas Louisiana Coast, it reminded me of Home! How fantastic is that? 10 STARS!
The chicken Po' boy was disgusting. The chicken was a weird , rubbery consistency, felt like it wasn't done. The fries, which were extra, were greasy and limp. Also was an extra charge for a slice of cheese on my hamburger, which was overdone and dry. None of the extras were mentioned as extra by the waitress. Do yourself a favor, don't stop by. Make these places start serving good food for the prices they charge!

Had the mountain man. Burger was elk, antelope, and javelina. Pretty good.
We went up to the Mesa to see the colors change and were really looking forward to trying out the Wagon Wheel restaurant for the first time as I have heard many good reviews over the years from friends and family, however, I was sadly disappointed at my experience. We ordered around lunch time and it was busy. Our waitress was very busy as she was the only one who was delivering food and taking orders. We ordered some sodas, my coke was flat. It did not taste good. I ordered the lunch special, a roast beef open faced sandwich. The mountain man burger with fries was ordered as well as a kids meal corn dog. Fries do not come with the burger, they are extra. When our food arrived, my meal was swimming in gravy, which I am not against but honestly this looked like they just poured a whole vat of gravy on my sandwich making it a mess everywhere. I am not against getting a little dirty at a meal but this was excessive. My mashed potatoes were instant madhd potatoes and for $15, I at least expected real mashed potatoes. The special only came with bread, instant mashed potatoes, the roast beef, and the 5 gallons of gravy. The burger was not flavorful and was dry. Fries were homemade and delicious but honestly not worth the experience for the just the fries. I love supporting local and paying more money for local experiences. We hardly go out to eat due to the economy and we cook a lot. We could’ve done better than the meal we received. I am very disappointed with the meal. I didn’t feel like I could’ve expressed this to the waitress either because she was so busy and barely came to the table. We didn’t receive refills or anything of the sort. I hope maybe this was just a fluke of a day but we won’t be returning unfortunately due to this mediocre service and the food.

Simple affordable motel with very clean rooms, microwave and fridge. Note that they aren't currently serving breakfast and there isn't anything close, so be prepared for that. Worked out great for a weekend base for one day exploring Colorado National Monument & one day hiking in Grand Mesa & was much cheaper than places in Grand Junction with not-so-great reviews.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time today as we vacationed for the first time in the area. The location was very convenient coming down off the Grand Mesa mountain on Rt. 65, there was plenty of parking close by which was free and the parking lot was freshly paved, the outside of the restaurant was nicely decorated, we were greeted upon entering, seated immediately, our server came right away and asked us what we wanted to drink and gave us menus, we received our beverages in one minute, our server took our orders within several minutes, their menu had many and varied items reasonable priced ($12 - $18), the dining room had plenty of seating, the dining room was clean and appropriately decorated for a restaurant in Western Colorado, no background music was playing, I don't know if there was free WiFi available, the restroom was clean and didn't smell, and our food was served steaming hot within 10 minutes and was delicious!
Safety: The location and restaurant was very safe.
Food and drinks: The food was very tasty and reasonably priced.
