Love this place for friendly service and great down home cooking. Green chile and the chili rellenos are spicy without being too much, and whole heartedly recommended. Also love their beans - not the mushy kind but well seasoned whole beans. Will definitely be back soon!

I was on a roadtrip with my sister and bro-in law… driving from Taos to Cedaredge and we were craving authentic, homestyle food… and found Sabor de Vida.

The food…amazingly fresh and delicious
The portions… verrrrry generous
The owner… warm and welcoming
The cafe… simple and comfortable

It was…just the best

Great meal! I had a smothered breakfast burrito. Just spicy enough to leave my mouth tingling. Wonderful service for a small restaurant. Will be recommending it as a place to go. Food was not from the can!!

I love this place and I always have. The owners and staff are friendly and attentive. I really appreciate the use of local and seasonal ingredients when possible. I am grateful that Sabor offers gluten free options, including the green chili. Pork tacos are my favorite.

Sabor de Vida has become one of my favorite places to eat and a place I recommend everyone to try for themselves. I eat here regularly and the food is always delicious and full of flavor. Knowing that this is a local farm to table experience makes me appreciate the love that goes into every dish and every ingredient. They have provided catering for our open mics too and always provide delicious food on time. Their team is also always professional and create a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sabor de Vida.

We drive two hours round trip to eat here. The chips and salsa are my favorite! Everything we’ve tried has been delicious and intentionally cooked too. We love a family owned and operated business that uses local ingredients!

I wanted to start this review by saying that the family running the place seems very kind and hardworking. It's from a place of loving Mom/Pop shops that I write this and want them to succeed:

The place has a very local, hole in the wall feel. Touting that the ingredients are locally sourced is an exciting prospect given the quality of the beef and some of the produce in the SLV.

Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't there whatsoever. I will say the beans (although served cold) had great flavor, as well as the rice. I ordered fries with mine just to give them a try as potatoes are a local staple as well. They were well seasoned and had a good crunch.

Our order took almost an hour to come out, mind you it's a slower way of living in the SLV and they appeared to be filling mobile orders. Otherwise I wouldn't say it was jam packed nor busy.

I got the Jose's (I believe was the name) special burrito (carne asada burrito covered in cheese and green Chile -I'm guessing hatch chile given the Southwest style for the area), which was disappointing. The Chile itself was some what sour and had zero flavor/seasoning. The flour tortilla was overly dense and the carne asada was overcooked, chewy, and also flavorless, unfortunately.

My wife got the tamale special plate. Again, the tamales had zero punch of that rich, southwestern style flavor you get when incorporating local red and green Chiles.

I may have come on an off day due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews that drew me to this establishment, but it was probably some of the most flavorless food, regardless of the Mexican category, that I've had in quite some time.

I want this place to succeed and post this in the hopes that maybe the quality control is a little more thorough so that they can keep on thriving. It's not mean spirited by any means.

Good luck to this family and I hope they continue to find success.
