Backstreet Bagel Company

On the left is a poppy seed bagel in name only, I purchased yesterday. On the right is a competitor’s poppy seed bagel. Hmmmm. Also, I agree with the recent reviewer about the older woman. She has terrible people skills. I politely asked her to check my order as three people after me had gotten their orders and mine was simple. Her response was, “No.”

The older women working at backstreet bagel have a terrible attitude and passive aggressiveness problem. I thought it was just one of the older women working, but had another one take my order and it was the same deal. 2 of my friends who are also young girls have also expressed how unpleasant and bitter they were towards them , so I wouldn’t be shocked if it was a targeted thing. It sucks to write this review because all the younger workers have been lovely, but unfortunately the old bitter women have thrown me off completely. Please get better people to work the register.

1st time visit, loved our breakfast everything bagel sandwiches with sausage & Bacon for me. Delish! $7.50 for sandwich & coffee. Coffee was great too. Super clean restaurant.🧡

Extremely inefficient — expect to wait about an hour for your order. Not a good choice if you’re on a time crunch.

We eat here every time we visit Montrose because we are hooked on those delicious cinnamon rolls! The sandwiches and coffee drinks are really good and the bagels are great (try the green chili one). It’s fun to sit out on the patio on a nice day. You won’t be disappointed and you definitely need to try a cinnamon roll if you stop in for a bite to eat.

Good bagels but the line took forever. It seemed like most orders took 5+ minutes just to place, which adds up when there’s a line out the door.

I’ve been a big supporter of backstreet bagel since the original owners opened 20(?) years ago in the old location. It’s really disappointing how this place has taken a nosedive recently. The lunch sandwiches used to be so good, filled up with meat and cheese and toppings. Now they are just sad and thin. Barely a piece of turkey covering the inside of the bagel, missing veggies, just disappointing. Montrose has lost another good one,

Very busy so get there early, but definitely worth the wait.

There's something charming about this place and I really wanted to like it. However for a bagel company to serve a plain dry and flavorless bagel, something is wrong. The rest of the bagel sandwich was good, just not the bagel. The young woman at the counter seemed friendly, but I don't think customer service was her strong point. She talked very low and was slow to check people out. Which created a line and not an efficient way to get coffee. My coffee was warm and bland straight out of the pot. Overall if I was going to give some advice to the owner, I would recommend focusing on the customer experience and not so many menu options.
