There was a festival going on with live music and a lot of vendors
Intimate space, great views from every angle, and the staff? Total gems—five stars for them. But…what is going on with the sound?
The opening act (not the most riveting, fair) was barely audible over the chatter. Then Sam Grisman and crew came on, and things got weird. He asked the crowd to be quiet—like really quiet—because they were using condenser mics, which apparently only go so loud. Okay, sure. But it looked like there was one mic for multiple musicians. After the first song, we got a second round of scolding. Sam told us that if we needed to have a conversation, we should just go home and talk there because “there was a lot of love in the room” or something.
Wait, what?
Instead of calling out the venue for a clearly underwhelming sound setup, he put the blame on the crowd. Maybe it’s a weird permit situation? Like, “Sure, you can build a venue here—but only one mic, and not too loud.”
So then came the great Shush Wars. People were aggressively shushing. Some were yelling STFU. It was all somewhat wholesome, not aggressive but not a great vibe.
I kept thinking about the last acoustic show I saw—Big Richard at the Boulder Theater. Similar setup, similar vibe, and LOUD in the best way. I was belting along and no one cared. That’s what you want.
Anyway, back to Caribou. After a few songs, the lecture, the tension, the “go home if you wanna talk” vibe, and the whole crowd morphing into a bunch of shushers, I dipped. Won’t be returning. Felt more awkward than intimate, more lame than lovely.
Awesome venue in a very unsuspecting location. Well worth the drive. Great sound system and room design, great staff. Put it on your to-do list.
Great venue for live music and good food available as well.
Nice venue, great concert. Wookiefoot is awesome
Was a great place to see a show
This is such an amazing venue. It’s not too big so shows feel very personal. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Overall, It’s a very chill and relaxed venue. Finally, they have reasonable ticket fees. They are not gonna go you like other venues. It’s an absolutely wonderful place to see a show.

Cool Place! Larger than it looks from the outside. Great Venue
Looks like a fun place to be, hopefully I can visit soon. The business page was very insightful.

Nice venue, but some stone cold idiot bartender wouldn't lay off of the damned harmonica all night.
Nice venue for a show
