So happy this Paonia institution reopened! It may have different owners and a different menu, but the food (and the presentation) was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. We sat on the patio, but the inside was nicely done as well.

A bit of constructive criticism: the patio is a peaceful sanctuary, but a loud AC or mini-split unit above the door made it much less enjoyable. Also, we found out it reopened by chance when we just happened to look it up online. Had we not, we would have driven by and still assumed it was closed because there's no sign outside nor any other indication that it's a functioning restaurant (unless it's after dark and you just happen to see the lights on the patio). Also, the simple look of the menu gives the impression that the food will likewise be simple or below average, so we were a little nervous when we ordered. Fortunately we were pleasantly surprised.

This place is definitely NOT CLOSED as of 10/16/2024. We were just walking by and found it was open, so we decided to check it out and were we glad we did. Great food and a wine list from the local wineries. Waitress told us the new owner/chef was from Sicily and decided to give it a go. Wife and I didn't want a monster meal so we decided to split the Fettuccini Alfredo w/shrimp which is some of the best I've ever had. Had the cannoli's afterward which were just as good. Please patronize this restaurant because I want it still there when I return to Paonia.

its hard for me to go out and pay 50$ for a meal and drink I could make better. service wasn't bad but it didn't feel very welcoming. there are other places in this town that are more worth your money.

The pizza was good, but I expected it to be bigger for $20

If you are hoping for a slow food family dinner this is the place to go.

Dietary restrictions: I think anyone could manage. I didn't do bread or dairy. There were vegetarian options.

Kid-friendliness: We enjoyed watching small children and babies running around the garden/courtyard

What an absolutely amazing gem on the Western Slope! We had never been here under the former ownership, but if I still lived in this part of the world I would be happy to give them much of my money....! The warmth of the family and their delicious recipes is evident, and it's especially notable that they choose to serve only local wines, as to support their neighbors. Thank you all so much for your spot-on service and dedication to your sweet small town.

Sunday night we had a group of 13. Service was fantastic and the food so darn good. Large portions but a great to go box. Dinner tonight at home! Big rain storm arrived and staff was able to bring the patio diners inside and no one got wet. If you weren’t watching the staff you would never know they had a flood. We will definitely return again and again!!

Such a sweet family owned restaurant filled with care and love, especially for children! I brought my 4 year old daughter in and we were lent an amazing children’s book and a tour of a newly planted weeping cherry tree ( worth checking out!). We ordered gf pizza which was the best gf pizza I’ve ever had. I had a lovely glass of local red wine. We had great conversation with another family and the owners and their kiddos at the bar. And right before we left we were given a piece of gf cheesecake for my daughter’s recent birthday! It was the type of experience that makes life feel like a love poem.

Such a find! We were travelers from across the country and had never been in town. So glad we happened upon this pleasant place. It was raining so we couldn’t enjoy the garden dining. The shrimp scampi had a bit of zing that was a burse of flavor in my mouth. Fresh bread to sop up every drip of the sauce. Colorado Riesling paired well. The staff was a bit slow to take our order or I would give service 5 stars also. Such a treat!

The family who is running this place now is really great. I like them alot. Super nice and welcoming. The food is pretty decent, although I did have higher hopes for it.
The last time I went in, I came in through the garden and was made to feel like I did something wrong. There is no sign telling you where to come in. The "main entrance" takes you to the bar area. Its just a bit confusing, buuuut I'm sure they'll get this all dialed in. They just opened.

Biggest thing that will keep me from coming back is that there is a reallly awful wine selection. ZERO italian wines. Nothing elegant and balanced. There is this common misconception around here that its better to serve local products. Normally I would 100% agree, but definitely not with wine. It'd be best to have a local selection AND a list of several really great wines from other places. Alfred Eames has some good vintages, but the rest of the list is garbage.

This is a small critique, but the bathroom could use some decor. It's like using a bathroom in a school or office building. Smells like cleaner and is kinda dingy.
Would love to see more attention to detail.

All in all I'm happy they are open and hope they do well. I'm sure things will improve with time.
