First time in Paonia after going to Black Canyon and found this gem. When I told the owner it was my first time he was genuinely excited to help and was very welcoming. The food was the freshest I’ve ever had and his recommendations were so delicious I savored every bite. Do yourself a favor and get the nectarine pie after some tacos!

Amazing food! Everything tastes so good ! I love the carnitas grit cakes and my son loves the potatoes. We all love the Agua Fresca too! The hardest part is deciding what to order.

Sometimes when you wake up, the sky is dreary, and you wonder why you continue the routine of work, home, sleep, and repeat...Nido has changed these existential questions in my life. I used to wonder if it would be some terrible sandwich or cold leftover I would be placing in my mouth to merely press my jaw together and swallow the mush into nothingness.Nido has me saying "NO MORE!". Their tacos have been life-altering!Now, when the doldrums occur I dream of chimichurri beef or their jerk chicken tacos. I am quickly snapped out of my funk back into the joy of existing in Paonia.Clearly, thinking about their menu puts me on a positive path, but eating it brings me near nirvana. I've been visiting weekly and I've never had a bad item on the menu; it is all amazing! From the tamales to the tacos to the desserts, everything tastes flavorful and fresh. You cannot go wrong. The jerk chicken, bubblegum carnitas, it's all stellar! The beverage selection is phenomenal, and it feels great to support local growers and producers.Thank you for making the greatest, comforting Mexican food in Western Colorado :)

What a unique spin on some classic Mexican dishes! Absolutely amazing quality combined with some amazing flavor combinations. Everything I've tried is delicious, it's definitely one of those places that you want to eventually try everything on the menu. They also sell great soda pops, the birch beer is quite similar to root beer, but quite possibly better.Vegetarian options: They do have a vegetarian section on the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to deal with, and a good sized restroom for customers.

Top is the rabbit rangoons, they were hot and fresh and oozing with flavor. Not like your average rangoon. To the right, the special agua fresca, non alcoholic and not too sweet but so refreshing. The tacos are the bubblegum plum carnitas and honey chili pork. I loved the bubblegum plum carnitas, crispy carnitas with the bright plum sauce. I enjoyed the honey chili with their pear salsa. All the salsas are worth a taste just beware of the yellow one, it tried to burn a hole through my tongue! Haha I finished with an apple/apple butter palleta and it cooled my tongue off and was so fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and the options a plenty! I hope to get to eat here again someday. I would recommend!

Service was incredible, staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious, menu is fun and different. Great seating options with choice of inside or outside. Margaritas, Rangoon, tacos and Caesar salad--everything was delicious! Will make a point to stop here again.

Cute place with outside seating. Tamales were great as well as egg roll flautas. They had coolers with "to go" meals of tamales, fire cracker Mac & cheese, and other things which I thought would be handy for later in the week when we are tired from hiking. It was not that busy on Saturday at dinner (5-6) and service was great. So glad to have a great place like this in Paonia. We will be back to try other menu items.

What an absolute gem! Cute little cafe that packs a punch of flavor in their food! I had the opportunity to try the honey chili taco and let me tell you: I’m still DREAMING of this masterpiece. The pork had a nice crust on it, but it also was so tender it melted in your mouth. It was a little spicy, but the honey gave it some nice notes to finish out the bite.Service was great and the woman at the register gave me good feedback on a couple tacos I was in limbo with. It was also served quickly. My only regret is not getting a second or a dozen to bring home with me. 5/5!

Good food and they have vegan options, but I’ve had better food and bigger portions at half the price. By weight it’s probably the most expensive food I’ve ever had and the small portions were served in paper containers.
