A cozy atmosphere with delicious food! Service was quick and servers were very welcoming. My friends and I were visiting from out of town and had a great dinner here.

Great little sit-down spot in Battlement Mesa with great costumer service and cozy atmosphere. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and fried pickles. Everything was amazing, and proportions very adequate. Coffee is much better than most restaurants and their bartender seemed very experienced, the espresso martini sounded especially appealing. Perhaps next time. I do wish they served breakfast all day, but understand why the menus are separate.

It's a good place to catch a bite in the area, and there's not much in the area. The menu is a bit eclectic, but I got to recommend anything they do. That's barbecue, they really know what they're doing with that.
The staff is friendly, I ate at the bar and the other patrons were friendly, it's just got a great vibe.
The term, "Bistro," might be a little hyped. But, in a place where restaurants are few and far between, the Funky Bear is a welcome oasis .

Attention weary travelers!
My boyfriend had to come into the room I was eating in to investigate all the “Oh my God!!!” he was hearing.
When I say I was surprised by the quality of food…is an understatement. Talk about a MUCH needed home cooked, stick to your ribs meal that honestly could go toe to toe with a Michelin rated restaurant any day. And out in what feels like the middle of nowhere, to boot.
Having driven all day, we were in need of a hot, welcoming meal. Searching online for anything that isn’t served out of a paper bag, I stumbled upon this little gem tucked away in an unassuming strip mall. I ordered the bison meatloaf…and I am not a meatloaf girl at all. Like…won’t even eat my moms. But something told me to order the bison over mashed potatoes with crispy Brussel sprouts.
First bite. Mashed potato. My jaw dropped and my hips wriggled in delight in our creaky hotel dinette chair. I immediately knew I was in for a special meal. Both creamy and chunky (my absolute favorite) with the perfect amount of fresh garlic and seasoning. Quite possibly the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had.
Next bite, the bison. Covered in a creamy tomato reduction, the bright vibrant tang against the rich, savory bison is something Christmas mornings are made of…Magic. Perfectly cooked, the bison was juicy and packed with flavor. 12/10.
If I ever find myself in western Colorado in need of respite again, I will fear not for I know exactly where to go to feel like home!

I don't come across a lot of restaurants with amazing, perfect even, food, service and atmosphere all in one place. But this one definitely is! Easily the best restaurant in Parachute (Battlement Mesa). And the kiddos love it too!

I ordered the Mesa fries to go. The fries were brown from the old grease all day. And the portion was way smaller than what my daughter got with her kids tenders. I just returned it. They didn’t offer to fix the problem. So when I got home to watch my baby enjoy her meal. Her fry’s were soggy. Fries look nothing like the description. Or picture on their website. Very dissatisfied. And it’s like josslyn at the bar was telling everyone I had a issue with my food cause they were staring

Their grilled chicken salad with blueberry herb vinegrette hit the spot! Spicy chicken sandwich was extra crispy and flavorful. Don't let the location in a strip mall deter you. We were the only ones there for the first 10 mins of being their but they started picking up fast. Definitely would recommend.

Ordered the chicken Sammy with no hot sauce. It had hot sauce on it. Was extremely over cooked and very salty. Did not even get accommodated for it. I WILL NOT be patronizing the restaurant again. Waitress was nice and cheerful, atmosphere was great. Food horrible.

A great place for a good meal! Worth the extra two minutes to get here off of I-70. Good variety, nice patio and very tasty! I certainly didn't leave hungry either.

My wife and l moved here about 3 weeks ago, while moving in we were starving, looked up restaurants and this was a 1/4 mile from our new home, had a wonderful meal, spot on, we were so excited to have a place so good so close, then tonight went for prime rib, ordered medium/well, it was served like rare to medium, closer to rare, the potatoes were bright red from blood, and the whole dinner was cold, waitress was fantastic, sending back crossed my mind but will try again, just sad to think a chef is not thinking about each dish that is presented.
Funky Bear is always delicious, the servers awesome, and the atmosphere is indeed funky (in the best way).

The Avocado toast is amazing! The marinated tomatoes were so good with my perfectly cooked eggs! Cinnamon roll with blueberries and pecans! I am definitely loving this new breakfast menu! Wash it all down with a yummy Bloody Mary! Great start to the day!

My family and I came here twice for breakfast, only an 8 minute drive so distance wasn’t a problem. The service from Kenya was phenomenal and really quick, even when the second day everything was a little busier. The food sizes are definitely shocking when only paying roughly 12-14 for a meal, but that’s a really good thing. The overall vibe of the place is very zen and cozy for this small town. Highly recommend if you’re roadtripping or stopping by and need a breather with a good bite to eat. ??

Great food, but it did take 25+ minutes to arrive. Burger came with mayo even though it was not listed, but still tasty with only 1 bun. Great place to sit and relax for a quick lunch break while on the road.
