I love the food here! The love and passion the owner has for food is evident. Fantastic service, quality food, good portions, great people, and a fun well-made spins on classics. The specials are always worth asking about and unique to the area. Seriously, ask about the specials. The owner/chef tries to get fresh and seasonal ingredients creating them.

Fish tacos , Asian wings and pizzas were excellent! The owner and staff were extremely hospitable and they say more gluten free accommodations will be coming soon. We can’t wait! We are new to the area and finding G F food options are important.

Great home-made authentic food. Not whitewashed and bland. Case in point the refried beans. The Cubano was awesome. Still has the arcade games, pool, foose and even skiball!

Food was delicious, service was polite and the prices were cheap! Very satisfied.

Such an amazing place. Order Nachos, they had no meat on them and I am not a huge fan of beans, but there's was so good! I'm sure I could have added meat, but I didn't ask. People woth me ordered the American burger and it was a 10. The produce was fresh and crispy. The other item ordered was a Asada Torta and it was really good too, very flavorful and very fresh. They said the fries were very good and not oily or greasy, cooked to perfection as well as seasoned perfectly. The drinks we ordered were very cold and I even got a chilled glass with ice. I was shocked the place wasn't packed. Such a great experience, great food and service.

We decided to check this place out randomly and it was so good. Delicious enchiladas. Highly recommend!

I've been there 2 times, food is OK service is OK. They have their grade school kid waiting the tables, and it is cute. No beer. I'm happy they are thereKid is pretty friendly.

I am disappointed because when I finally went to order lunch, after reading so many positive reviews, the doors were locked and the open sign was turned off. That was a wasted trip. When the hours listed online say they are open but the doors are locked is an issue and does not look good for the management of the restaurant. If they happen to be closed on Monday (there are restaurants that do) it better say so on the front door of the restaurant but I saw no hours listed when I looked through the window.

I really enjoy el universal. Staff is amazing and attentive. Their food and service is excellent and very fair priced. I especially like how the cheif will give free samples of items to customers.for free to try. This place will not disappoint

Great food but I wish you were open for the hours posted. You were closed yesterday and today. Having a restaurant in Battlement mesa is difficult because people have to drive out of their way to get there. Having inconsistent hours makes me not want to dine there anymore. Amazing food, but you're never open for the hours you have posted.
