I really try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. We’ve visited Golden Flame several times specifically because they have a dedicated gluten-free fryer and gluten-free sauces—something that’s hard to find. But after being disappointed more than three times, it’s clear a review is overdue.
Each visit has had a different issue, which is why we kept giving them another chance. But last night was the final straw.
My husband and I eat out more than we cook, and Golden Flame had been a convenient option. One night, we arrived at 8:08 p.m., well before their 9 p.m. weekday closing time. I told the employee I’m Celiac and require gluten-free. She warned me it would take longer because they had already shut down the gluten-free fryer. I said that was fine—we’d wait.
The restaurant was still busy, with sports on the TVs, and people who arrived at 8:30 got their food before us. When I finally asked for an update, she said the fryer had to be started back up. Our food didn’t arrive until 8:50, and by then the staff was actively closing down the restaurant—cleaning, sweeping, spraying tables—right next to us while we tried to eat. The smell of chemicals and dust was so overwhelming we left half our food behind.
Next time, to avoid being “inconvenient,” we ordered takeout. The fries were ice-cold and the wings were oddly chewy—even though we live less than five minutes away.
Then about a month ago, we showed up at 8:20, only to be told again that the gluten-free fryer was “off for the night.” The dining room was still active, with multiple families eating, so it wasn’t a slow night—they simply didn’t want to turn it back on.
We gave them yet another chance last night. I walked in at 7:56 p.m., more than an hour before closing, and the first thing I did was ask if gluten-free was available. The employee checked and said, “Yeah, it’s off. It’ll be at least 20 minutes before we can cook anything.” At that point, I didn’t even bother ordering.
At this point, it’s obvious Golden Flame doesn’t want the business—at least not from anyone who needs gluten-free accommodations, despite advertising them. There’s another wing place in town with a designated fryer, better sauce options, way better fries, and staff who aren’t more excited to go home than serve customers.
I’ll gladly drive the extra 10 minutes for food—and service—that’s worth it.

Delicious wings, good value, nice venue. Fries could have been more crisp but still super tasty. Would highly recommend garlic parmesan and lemon pepper wings.

Best wings in town but the fries are always soggy. 4 bucks for soggy fries is why you lost 1 star
I come to Golden Flame all the time it’s a favorite for my family. However, tonight I was very unimpressed with the service we received and will not be coming back to this location unfortunately. I talked to Marissa on the phone and she was beyond unprofessional. I called in 25 minutes before closing for a pick up order. Mind you I was going to drive all the way from Denver because I loved this location. I asked for well done wings on an order and was told that they wouldn’t do it because they were about to close, I said okay and moved on with the order. I communicated with her that my map had me coming to arrive 5 minutes after they closed and asked if I could pay over the phone so I could just grab it when I got there… they didn’t take payment over the phone also okay, no problem. However, the way that Marissa spoke to me and made it seem like I was a huge inconvenience to her and her team who “absolutely had to be out of the building right at 9” made me feel very uncomfortable. I have worked in the service industry for years before and I completely understand that I was asking for them to wait on me for 5 minutes but every single restaurant I’ve ever been to puts their customers first and I felt as though they did not do that for us tonight like most other restaurants do. If I could’ve been there earlier I would’ve but my schedule did not align and I wanted to feed my family. It was 5 minutes it wasn’t like I was asking them to wait 20 minutes for me. Anyway I would suggest not going to this location if you’re looking for great hospitality and good service where their employees go above and beyond to make the customers happy because that’s exactly the opposite of what Marissa did for us tonight.

Eh. It was about $20 for 10 wings when you factor in tax, tip, and a “convince” fee. I thought I was getting fries with it, but thats my fault for not looking close enough when ordering.
I got the Golden flame sauce. It was alright.
Overall, I don’t think it was a good value. I’ll be going back to Wing Stop.

I just love how they promote national wing day July 29th then turn off their delivery orders. I was looking forward to some wings for a get together I'm at where we are having drinks so we are not driving. I called the store and the nice young lady said they were busy which is understandable. She informed me to try to order through the website but it says we are outside of the delivery range(which is not the case as I have ordered here multiple times on DoorDash with no issues). She also suggested checking back on DoorDash in an hour. It has been 3 hours now and they still have not turned it back on. They now are 1 hour and 50 min away from closing so I guess no Golden Flame for us tonight. I love their wings and it's sad to run a promotion and turn off delivery orders imo. I guess I'll take our $100+ order somewhere else tonight.

I’ve called multiple times and have only ever been sent to voicemail, never able to speak with anyone. It’s hard to give a good rating when you can’t even get a hold of someone. Very disappointing experience.

Try the golden flame sauce, it’s is SOOO yummy! And the fries are fresh cut (if not fresh cut, damn good frozen)
