Las Potrancas Mexican Restaurant

Dinner was fantastic, house margs were tasty. clean and friendly service. cozy atmosphere, cool artwork and ambiance.

I love love love the food here. It truly is amazing. I refer people all the time.
Today, we had excellent food again but the service was not good. After the waiter brought out our food he didn’t come back to the table until long after we were done eating. He never asked how the food was or offered us a drink refill. I could see him the whole time though. He was eating in the dining room with no care about his tables. I understand needing to eat but you need to give your table to another server or do both. Plus, I was in the industry and we NEVER ate on the clock in front of customers. We will be back but I hope this service is much better next time.

Every time we go they get something wrong. We placed a pickup order for a birthday party and when we went to pick it up they didn't have an order for us. The food is good, but you're not going to get what you ordered.

We like the tamales very much, but now I'm very disappointed They were priced at $25 and recently changes to $35 a dozen. Umm...no thanks.:(

Ordered take out, great prices and super tasty! Only downside is that our order didn’t include chips and salsa, but we’ll definitely come again.

Food and service were both great and the only issue with the atmosphere was the music was really loud. We were seated directly in front of the stage speakers so she ended up heading out to the car before we finished eating because it was giving her a headache. It was a bit challenging to have a conversation. Overall we enjoyed the food but not sure if we'll be dining in again anytime soon.

Las Potrancas is nice inside, but definitely gives off a bar vibe. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still really nice inside. The website says they are open at 9am on Saturday, they actually open at 10.

I went for breakfast at 10:30. Not very busy and music was at just the right level (not annoying). Started off with some good, free, nice warm chips and salsa.

I ordered 2 items:

Smothered Green Chili Fries - Good portion of thin fries, came out on a hot plate, but the fries were warm and could have been cooked longer to make crispier. Because the fries were thin you could actually taste the green chile as well and not just the French fry so that was good. The green chile was good. Overall it was good

Smothered Egg and Potato breakfast burrito. Good size burrito, good ratio of egg to potato unlike some other places that give mostly potato. Potato was thin hash browns, it was good but could have been cooked or fried longer to crisp, it was like it was cooked in a lot of oil as seen in the picture.

Service was good up until the end when my waiter disappeared and I ran out of water, needed a box and wanted the check. I had to flag down another waiter after 10 minutes to check out. I turned around and my waiter was at the bar sitting, eating with his back turned to me.

It was a good meal, good portion size and at
good price, $10 for the smothered fries, $7 for the smothered burrito. Service was ok.

I would have given it 4 stars if the fries and hashbrowns were cooked more, I hadn’t run out of water, and I wasn’t abandoned by the waiter at the end. I would eat here again though.

Omg! This place is awful and not worth the money. I ordered feista nachos and got a soupy cheese beef mess. Also ordered a chicken burrito that was supposed to come with beans rice and didn't. I will never order from here again. The food arrived and smelled like grease.. bad Mexican food for sure!! If you buy food from here you have no idea what good Mexican food is. So sad. Arizona has the best!!! Response to the restaurant. Yea you are wrong of course. You wouldn't listen to me. There was nothing crispy in this food. It tasted like pure grease and cheese. The burrito was gross to and I couldn't eat but a quarter of it as it was so freaking salty and that was the taste. Again this is not good Mexican food but nasty greasy food with no taste
I have tried your place once before and thought I would give you another chance and yea just nasty food. Also, you never offered to refund me or replace food at all! I won't be back. You can continue to feed your soupy mess to people who have no clue what good Mexican food is! I will continue to order from Hacienda Colorado where the Mexican food is good.

Very spacious inside and a lively atmosphere although we were seated near the entrance where it was a little more quiet. Chips and salsa were good and our server was friendly as well. I ordered the carne asada. The beans and rice were good and tasty however my piece of meat was on the fatty side and that turned me off. The portion was a little smaller than some other Mexican restaurants we have been to and my margarita was mid and expensive considering it was on "special". Overall my total bill was over $50 for 1 person which I find ridiculous and so I will not be returning.

Ordered to go. No chips and salsa. Ordered 4 soft tacos and they all came with corn tortillas. I didn't pay double for corn tortillas.

I dont recomnend to go. Go sit down and then the food is quality.

Really missing the mark with bad food. Should consider a new chef. This place has so much potential. Tried to give it a second chance but had the same experience. Very few people present during the lunch hour. If the food was better, it would be bustling with clients.

Parking: We ordered the margaritas to start off with because we read they were really good. Nope!! Never do that again. Chips and salsa were good, but the attention to detail was missing. Maybe too many people and very noisy. If you're going there as a first date, don't go. You won't be able to hear each other talk. The food was not good. I'm thinking there are too many white people that eat there, so the chili has to be dumbed down to fit their pallets. If you're going to say you have good chili, then have good chili (hot). Too, many other good Mexican restaurants in the city to get better food.
