We had a great time at the winery. We traveled from Denver, not a bad drive. The winery was great with excellent service and attention. Wines are made in site but grapes at this moment are brought from palisade.

Great local winery with a variety of good wines. Owners have quickly established this as a spot for locals and visitors alike.

Don’t miss this winery, it’s great! We stopped by here while visiting the area and absolutely loved it!! It’s got a great story, the owner is retired military and it’s clear he’s passionate about wine making. Spent time telling us about our tastings and helped us pick out which we would like best. We ended up loving the white bourbon barrel the best. Don’t miss the charcuterie board. Highly recommended

Sean (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) owns this amazing winery. He is super proud of all of his work and is extremely friendly. My wife and I had a great time sampling his wines and talking with him when we visited. Our favorites were his whiskey barrel wines, Summer Passion (Pinot Gris), and the Marquette, but there wasn't a single wine we didn't like! We are eager to come back soon and with more friends to support and spread the word about this fantastic winery!

We were absolutely IMPRESSED with the wine at Bugling Elk. Best wine I’ve ever had, no joke. These guys are the real deal and know what they’re doing!!! The owner is so awesome, and so passionate about what he does, he gave us a personal tour of the place and told us the history of the winery. What a fantastic place! Rating at 5 stars only because it won’t let me give more.

Wow! I love their wine. I was very surprised and impressed by everything they have. Their Sweet Red and their Summer Passion were (no exaggeration) the best wine I’ve ever had. I highly recommend! I wish I was a local so I could get all my wine here.

Additionally, the owners and staff are great people, super friendly, and have created a wonderful atmosphere. I love this place and hope to come back!

The Bugling Elk in Penrose is exquisite! The owner, Shaun, is a master at his craft and the customer service was top notch! I’m glad that I got to stop in with my friends and see your wonderful establishment and enjoy your wines and charcuterie boards. Thank you for the tour of everything; that was really fun and informative and really makes me appreciate the process even more!

I enjoyed every wine I tried, but I personally recommend the Traminette.

The wine and customer service at Bugling Elk is absolutely amazing! We loved the red blend that was soaked in a whiskey barrel…incredible!!!

Wonderful wine tasting experience! The story behind this place how it was built with hard work and passion is incredible! Veteran owned as well! Amazing wines and a welcoming beautiful setting! Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I moved to Penrose a couple months ago and the Elk has been the place where we got to know our neighbors. Could not be more grateful to Shaun and Alexis for doing the hard work of raising vineyards, making wine, and bringing this community together. Grab a glass and a charcuterie platter and enjoy the good life.
