Gio’s Family Dining in Craig, Colorado, is exactly what you’d hope for in a small-town spot: friendly, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and it feels like the kind of place where locals gather. We had a great time, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you're passing through. Nothing fancy, just good food and good people.

Friendly place, laid back atmosphere.
Spinach dip, fish and chips, coleslaw, tarter and kids sausage pizza were all very well prepared and delicious.

On a Friday night it was the only restaurant open for dine in. Was a bit curious about an Italian restaurant in a town this small. Ended up being quite impressed. They had a large selection of traditional dishes as well. All of our food was well made, fresh and decent portions. Service good. Pretty clean. Would look forward to going back.

Stopped here on my way through the other day and met an incredible staff and owner who was very friendly and beyond helpful. Had nothing but kind things to say about everyone in town and answered all my questions on the town as I waited on my pizza. Great rep for Rangely. Thanks for making this Yankee smile on a great rest stop and what an incredible pizza!!

One of the few restaurants in town with decent eats. Has great pizza. The staff is friendly. Menu offers kid friendly options.

Road trip stop.
(WA to ID to MT to WY to UT to CO)
Camped at Green River then visited Dinosaur National Monument in the morning. Next on the itinerary was lunch! So happy that this restaurant was en route. Really delicious and filling lunch.

Iced Tea is not fruit flavored. Yessss. Just regular. And they have pink sugar packets. Although it tastes great even without the sugar.

Almost got the crispy chicken cobb salad, but needed something a bit more substantial. More filling. Opted for the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and basically devoured it. Spared a bite for husband to try. This may sound silly... but... it was like eating a super high-end, giant-sized fast food crispy chicken sandwich. It brought the good memories of my fast food restaurant eating days, but the taste and quality was a zillion times much better.
As always, I ordered the fry sauce on the side, but then happily dunked my sweet potatoes fries in it.
I normally would prefer pickles on the side, but not for this sandwich. It was perfect as is.
Happy camper. Happy road tripper.

Husband had the Chicken Caprese entree and he opted for soup + sweet potato fries. The soup was tomato basil and it was a big bowl of tastiness. Extra rich and creamy and tomato-y.

Highly recommend this place if you are not familiar with the area and just driving through like we were.

Server was wonderful.
Should you find yourself waiting. Be nice. Be patient. The food is worth the wait! Just keep in mind that they may be short staffed or perhaps extra busy time of the day. Once we put in our orders the food came right away.

Food Sensitivity Notes:
Fry sauce that comes with chicken sandwich I believe has some type of chili in it. Supposed to be mainly mayo and ketchup, but there was a hint of spicy/capsaicin that my husband couldn't eat.

Bathroom Notes:
The soap smells amazing and it's extra foamy. Sink and faucet were wonderful. Water flow is fantastic and temperature is great, too. It's the little things that just make my day when road tripping. I swear. So nice to be able to wash ofd the dirt and dust and sunscreen layers from hanging out at Dino Nat'l Monument. Soaps have gotten so disgustingly smelly at restaurants that I now do a sniff test before committing to it (and I now carry soap in my car).

Wonderful food and friendly service. Ate there yesterday. I had the steak salad and my wife had a 10” pizza. They were both delicious! We highly recommend Gio’s.
