Ended up stopping in here for a late lunch while we were heading to Steamboat Springs. It was a great choice.

We were able to order off of the Happy Hour menu which featured a lot of great small plate options. My wife and I ordered a few things to share; Fat Tony (meatballs), Rigatoni with Sausage, and a peperoni pizza. The kids each ordered the spaghetti with meatballs.

The Rigatoni with Sausage was amazing, I would order the full size next time. The pizza was also very good and the crust was a very unique flavor which we all enjoyed. The kids spaghetti with meatballs was a good portion and both of our kids ate all of their food.

The HH prices were reasonable. The full menu prices seemed on the high end and was structured more towards family style portions.

Overall definitely worth a stop.

Update: Time to credit the owner for responding to my review.
Tim, please personally message me on Facebook Messenger and I can give you my phone number. I welcome the opportunity for a face to face meeting to elaborate on the numerous issues I've posted about. I'll update the review later.

Years ago I would have wholeheartedly and without reservation recommended this long-time local restaurant. The outdoor bar is lovely, the yurts are a fun dining experience and the food is OK.

However, the reason for this abysmal review is based on my last three visits. Sauce on the Blue has lost all interest in customer service.

Reason #1 - Went with some gal pals to celebrate a big birthday. It was super sunny on the deck and we asked the hostess to move an unused umbrella to offer some shade on our group of seven. She said they weren't able to move the umbrella. A few minutes later, two older couples requested the umbrella be moved, and walla....the umbrella was moved.

Reason #2 - Called today to make reservations for Dec and advised Gayle, there seemed to be a problem with the website. Rather than thank me and say they'd look into it, she put me on hold and came back to tell me it was "just fine." Then she got even ruder so I asked to talk to Tim, one of the owners. She said "they were off enjoying a vacation and unavailable." We will not be taking our party of 8 to SOTB in December. We will go to Eclectic where our business is appreciated, the food is better and staff professional and accommodating.

#3 - Came for dinner without a reservation on a Tuesday in late August and were seated behind the hostess stand with little room to navigate into our chairs. I asked about the vacant table by the window and was told it was "reserved" according to the blond hostess. A few minutes later another couple came in, were offered a seat near the hostess stand and they said "No, we want that table over by the window." They were seated. After we ate, I asked the hostess why they were able to be seated at the table we told was "reserved", she went into "I'm too busy now to deal with this." There was no one in line.

If there's a moral to this story, if you go to SOTB, just be rude because that's what you're going to get back or just take your dining dollars elsewhere. Maybe Bistro North or Eclectic.

Sat outside by the river walk and it was very nice. Ordered the rigatoni & sausage and the Penne alla Vodka on the suggestion of the server. The food was very good and priced as I would expect for a mountain town.

Excellent staff and atmosphere, only wish the food would have met that same level of expectation. I have to give this 3 stars because our food was very overpriced for the quality.

Jay and Katie are great bartenders. Food is amazing. I recommend sitting at the bar. Views outside of the Blue River are great for larger groups.
