One waiter waiting 3 tables... should not have been a big deal. The place was very small and quiet. Our party of 6 was crammed in a back room with a family of 4. They gave us their wine because the waiter got their order wrong. He also got our drink order wrong and never brought our bottle of wine to us ...or water, after continually asking for water. Finally we got up and found our own pitcher of water. We asked for another pitcher as we were so thirsty. Never got that either. Two of our three food orders came out wrong. Our overpriced steak that was apparently service for 2, was a 6 oz steak and nothing special. The salmon smelled very fishy and we couldn't stomach it. One meal was brought before the fondue, which he said was coming right out ... but never did. Still... no water. We were all dipping bread and veggies from one pot because at this point we were quite hungry.... And very thirsty. Got a bill for over $400. Called the manager and really just got excuses. He told us to pay whatever we wanted for the meal. We headed up to tomboy tavern where we were greeted with 2 jugs of water already on the table. The food was great as well. Do not waste your time at Alpinist and the Goat.

Beyond disappointing experience here with my group of 10. Several things were greatly missed. The service was sub par, the ceiling had multiple leaks with buckets set throughout the restaurant and bathroom, they were completely out of beer, the cocktails weren't great. The fondue is overpriced considering all you get is seasoned ciabatta and apples, which weren't even cut evenly. The chocolate fondue came with old Strawberries. The ambience was weird and quiet with music playing on and off. I'm very disappointed that we wasted our group dinner night on this place, I would avoid at all costs. Kind of embarrassing they're running this type of business and charging as much as they are.

Truly one of the most lackluster dining experiences of my life. Full disclosure, we did not dine with you. We decided we were best off paying for our drinks and finding another place to dine. Here's why. Our party of 5 was squeezed into a table meant for 4 in a small, unattractive back room. For the duration of our time there, we sat next to a large and dirty table from the prior party that sat there. The room had no charm, there was no music or ambiance to speak of and we could hear a muffled conversation from the adjacent room. None of this is conducive to a pleasant dining experience. In so far as the menu is concerned, the food offerings seemed fine but the beverage selection is just such a miss. Put some effort into it. There are so many great beers and wines that pair well with fondue. Instead you only offer a cheap bulk red and cheap bulk white by the glass. The by the bottle offerings were not much better and with no thought being put into the selections in terms of style, price point, quality and pair-ability with you food. The beer was just as bad with only Heineken, Stella and Dos X. Here is the kicker, you were sold out of ALL beer on my visit so I opted for water after my wife said her wine was terrible. Our server who was also the hostess took our order only to return 10 minutes later and ask if we were ready for her to take our order. Puzzled, we told her our order had already been placed. There was another 2 top that was sat after we were. They had the same reaction and asked for the check after receiving their drinks. We bumped into them at Rustico down the street where we all had a positive dining experience. So put some effort into your decor and ambiance, put some thought into your beverage offerings, train your service staff and you could be a dining destination. See Goldener Hirsch in Deer Valley for inspiration. They are a difficult reservation to get because they do Fondue and Swiss/Austrian/Alpine food and dining just right.

The chef and waiter were terrific. Took their time to talk to us and explain the menu and work with food restrictions. The food was delicious and it was a fun unique meal for us. Would definitely recommend.

We have eaten here on multiple occasions. We enjoy the food and atmosphere. It is a little bohemian in the way that it is small and cramped, but cozy. Service has always been excellent. I recommend it. About the cost, it's Telluride what do expect.

The menu is misleading. You get a fondue with bread and apples and have to pay for each additional side. The prices are too high. The server was very friendly and the drinks were good.

This is the first negative restaurant review I have written but DO NOT COME HERE. We had a reservation, family of four, nothing crazy. Only table they had was in hall blocking passage to bathroom, air conditioner vent blowing in winter, chairs either no padding. We waited 20 mins for drinks (never got asked about a refill). 1 hr and 20 mins wait for unremarkable food. We went elsewhere for dessert bc we couldn't wait again. Oh and water, even getting your water refilled was a fight. I thought about just filling myself. There are countless great restaurants in Telluride, don't waste your time here!

This is a must-do experience in Telluride. Pack your patience and maybe a protein bar. It's well worth the wait! Edith and Monica single-handedly made our night one to remember.

The staff that were present were great and attentive! However, just one server/bartender and one cook is too much for those few staff. Invest in your staff and therefore your guests' experience.

We booked this restaurant for dinner hoping for nice fondue and raclette. We arrived and the tv and music were so loud, so we sat in the other room. We wanted raclette which is normally served with raclette cheese and on the menu is says Gruyère. Our waiter didn’t seem to understand our questions about the dishes and he then returned to table to say they had run out of Gruyère and that they would make the raclette with emmental cheese, which is an absolute no go. We also tried to order two different bottles of wine, to which the waiter looked confused and kept saying we don’t have that, so we cancelled our food and left.
