The menu is misleading. You get a fondue with bread and apples and have to pay for each additional side. The prices are too high. The server was very friendly and the drinks were good.

This is the first negative restaurant review I have written but DO NOT COME HERE. We had a reservation, family of four, nothing crazy. Only table they had was in hall blocking passage to bathroom, air conditioner vent blowing in winter, chairs either no padding. We waited 20 mins for drinks (never got asked about a refill). 1 hr and 20 mins wait for unremarkable food. We went elsewhere for dessert bc we couldn't wait again. Oh and water, even getting your water refilled was a fight. I thought about just filling myself. There are countless great restaurants in Telluride, don't waste your time here!

This is a must-do experience in Telluride. Pack your patience and maybe a protein bar. It's well worth the wait! Edith and Monica single-handedly made our night one to remember.

The staff that were present were great and attentive! However, just one server/bartender and one cook is too much for those few staff. Invest in your staff and therefore your guests' experience.

We booked this restaurant for dinner hoping for nice fondue and raclette. We arrived and the tv and music were so loud, so we sat in the other room. We wanted raclette which is normally served with raclette cheese and on the menu is says Gruyère. Our waiter didn’t seem to understand our questions about the dishes and he then returned to table to say they had run out of Gruyère and that they would make the raclette with emmental cheese, which is an absolute no go. We also tried to order two different bottles of wine, to which the waiter looked confused and kept saying we don’t have that, so we cancelled our food and left.

This is severely overpriced and not a genuine fondue experience. The filet was dry, the salmon had been frozen for some time. Even the artichoke hearts seemed to be out of a can. The cocktails were poorly constructed. The waitress tried her best, but she was fighting with both hands behind her back given the poor culinary on the table. This restaurant either needs to close or have a massive overhaul. Trying to save future patrons from throwing down a lot of cash and no return on satisfaction.

First time there. Food was horrible. Service was mediocre. Very expensive for quality. Not a real fondue restaurant. Just serve melted cheeses in pots. Too much bread and very few apples for dipping...nothing else. Dessert items were stale and old and dipping them in chocolate didn't make it better. A one and done foe me.

Total scam. Table was to small to accommodate my wife and I. We opted to leave without ordering and were assured our credit card deposit would be returned. Not true. Owners argued with the bank. We were charged $125 and got nothing. Owners seem a bit sketchy. Avoid.

Really bad food, really bad service, it took hours to get our food out. The cook was in a really bad mood. Its quite expensive for food that bad. Really disappointed. The T.V really loud.

This place is a hidden gem in Telluride if you want a quaint, different experience. It is a little pricey. Maybe could have had a bit more filet on the the filet board and dessert basket could've maybe had cookies or cheesecake to dip instead of store bought coffee cake. But, all over it was good! Our server, Guss was amazing! He went way beyond to give us the best service possible. My daughter is gluten free and double checked everything and even went the extra mile to bring packages out to her to read ingredients when he wasn't sure. Most wait staff just blow you off or tell you they are not sure instead of asking for you. If you have time this place is for you. It isn't a real fast pace restaurant, but very nice if you want a special place in Telluride. When we return this will be one of the few places that we ate while we were in town for a 5 day stay that we would return back too. Thank Guss and the talented chef in making our night at Alpinist and the Goat memorable!

Went here for dinner because it seemed cool . Right off the bat after being seated we were ignored as if we weren't there. Every worker just kind of stood around as if they didn't know what there role was. two girl waiters were just standing by a wall talking then finally another worker realized we weren't being helped and took our order. Throughout the night we were never tended to unless we got their attention. We order a bacon type cheese fondue which was made well. We also ordered a charcuterie board which we sadly never got to try because they never brought it to us. When we brought it to their attention they apologized and brought us a bin of bread instead which is when we decide to pay and leave. Not only this but where we were we could see inside the kitchen which by all means was not bad except for seeing older kids eating by the food being prepared and served, but as well as non of the people in there having their hair tied up or in a net which isn't sanitary. The poor management and neglect to us made the overall experience terrible. Will definitely not be returning or suggest to anyone looking for an enjoyable evening . Would also add this place is I VERY SMALL to the point of which you feel cramped and uncomfortable. Instead just having less seating the shoved as many tables i. the space as they which was not pleasant,Especially with type of restaurant and prices, which were reasonable for the food and preparation but not for what you are actually served( we knew the high price coming into the place that was not the problem for us)
