Came here a few times over the past couple of years and the food was much better in the past. The guys ordered the ribeye, which was highly recommended by the server, but it was like eating shoe leather and they ordered it medium rare. I had the trout which was OK because thankfully they had the skin crispy pan fried. The French onion soup was incredibly average. The mussels were nice and flavorful. The mushroom risotto was overwhelmingly strong in its fragrance that one of our guests couldn't even eat it. And she didn't add any truffle shavings either. The scallops were cooked well but the sauce wasn't the best. Service was very very slow on a Thursday night and we were some of the last people there. Three cocktails and three glasses of wine took about 30 minutes on average to get. I had to send my gin gimlet back and another of our guests sent her tequila cocktail back because they were so strong. The ambience for the outdoor seating is awesome with their heated igloo. So the atmosphere is worth trying for the experience, but do not expect good food anymore. Hopefully they go back to the way it used to be when the food was wonderful. Staff were nice but it just took a very long time.

Dined here on January 2nd of this year. This restaurant is categorically the worst establishment I’ve seen. Maître d' is quite possibly one of the most nauseating human beings I’ve had the misfortune of meeting.

Shhhh! It’s really really good. Super knowledgeable and extra hard working staff. Plenty of options in Telly but this is the place!

We are in Telluride skiing for a week and wanted to enjoy French Cuisine. From the moment we were greeted, La Marmotte staff was incredible. From the service, (the staff is groomed to perfection) to the incredible food we had an incredible evening. We all enjoyed the baguette with a very tasty goat cheese and toppings, to the French Onion Soup, with an incredibly tasty consistency. Two of us had scallops with mushroom and other vegetables, as tasty and presented as good as I've seen. Another guest had a mouth watering steak. The deserts were all extremely tasty and well presented. I forgot to mention I ordered an Old Fashion and the waitress suggested a similar drink on their cocktail list... again over the top smooth and well represented. If you are interested in an incredible evening with top notch service, food and ambiance...La Marmotte should be on your list while enjoying Telluride!!!

Food was very good as was the wine by glass selection. Server was little overly chatty but nice and did offer good service. From the prix fixe, we started with an onion soup and market salad. Both were very nicely prepared and delicious. Onion soup is easy to make too salty, this wasn't and had very clean distinct flavors. For my main, I had the riz et champignons which is a mushroom risotto of sorts, excellent flavor and not heavy as a risotto can be. My wife had the trout which she enjoyed very much. We topped off desserts with chocolate and cherry clafoutis + the apple crumble. Nothing was left when we finished, super good. The only black mark on the restaurant is a insulting 4% check add on for "employee health & housing". This added $10+/- to the check on a $95/pp prix fixe. This is not a cheap dinner. Don't insult your guests. Make the prix fixe $100 and be done with it. Adding 4% and asking for another 20-25% tip is obnoxious and why I won't return. Charge what you want to charge UP FRONT, don't nickel & dime us and then ask for a full tip.

What a disappointing experience. We made reservations 10 weeks in advance for one of the private globes, but were told upon arrival that the globes weren't available and had been "booked for weeks". It was very dismissive. No apology or anything. After starting off with this sour note, we were continually treated as if we didn't belong. The staff is very pretentious and acts as if you're lucky to be dining there. If you're not well versed in French wine, don't dare ask a question because you'll receive an eye roll. To cap off the evening, we were overcharged on the bill by $100 when we tried to split it three ways. This was corrected after we addressed it, but the explanation was suspicious. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the food is decently tasty. Not nearly worth the price, but good nonetheless. Avoid this place if you value decent service or appropriately priced food.

What an amazing experience!! We made reservations to eat inside one of their outdoor igloos and had a fantastic time. Each igloo had a JBL speaker inside so you could play your favorite music and create your own ambiance. The service was 5 star!! I highly recommend eating here! We had a terrific time!!!

First time visiting Telluride. We enjoyed our stay but ended up becoming positive with Covid. We called to cancel our reservation due to not wanting to infect other guests and staff, we were told that basically they don't care and we will be charged. We were unable to attend but the owner of the restaurant went ahead and charged our card $190 for two people!!!! I am sure the ambiance and the food is great and we were really looking forward to going to La Marmotte and having a greatmeal.Be careful when you book!!!!

I thought that this place was excellent. Good service, good food, good ambiance. Loved my glass of Bordeaux.I ordered the rib eye and it was delicious, I was Impressed by accompaniments - the onions, two sauces, and watercress and the little appetizer from chef was excellent. I would like to order that from the menu.I’m gaining faith in Telluride service and hospitality again after this evening.

When we'd been there in the past, I'd say the last time was just before Covid, we were able to freely order off the menu any items we wanted and we did not feel rushed. This year, our server said that a new owner took it over a couple or so years ago This time was definitely different in that it was a pre fix menu and the only thing that could be freely ordered from the menu was appetizers (which I liked a couple but did not love any). We felt like we were being rushed as our waitress said we had to order the 1) soup/salad type items 2) the entree (there were a few but missing some items that should totally be on there and 3) the dessert all at once. They bring out the first part, and we felt rushed. It felt like we had 5 minutes to eat that, then they had the standard wait until 5 minutes later when they deliver the entree and again checking with us several times to see if we were ok (which they meant done) and when we were the dessert arrived in the next 3 minutes. We both agreed that for the amount of money spent for 2 people, about $400, WITH A RESERVATION, we should not have had to feel rushed and should be able to order our choice without having to select foods they decide as part of the pre fix menu.

A friend wanted to eat in one of the glass igloos. She also reviewed the online menu, which sealed the deal with duck and Foie gras being posted. We rearranged our schedules to meet the restaurant's availability. This place has also gone prix fixe with a few items having an upcharge. The igloo was a cool experience. The dining menu does not match the online menu. Our server seemed a bit put out when we mentioned that the reason we came was because of the online menu. It wasn't the servers fault and we didn't grumble much about the issue, just stated that if the menu changes frequently the website person should make the updates. The rest of the service was great!!! Food was fine. I don't know there is a new chef, new management or what, but the restaurant and food are not the same as my last visit. In all fairness that was pre-Covid, but that trip ranked a 5 star service. Drink prices are crazy. I ordered a cognac French 75 and it is $30! That price is posted on the menu, but as it was a special occasion I splurged. It was good, but not $30 worth.

Cannot express how amazing everything was. Every aspect was attended to with excellence and love, from the ambiance, drinks, food, service, and more ...Chef Maggie and team truly delivered a night to remember forever. Thank you!

We were lured in by the gimmicky outdoor seating, and were served an average meal with subpar service at truly exorbitant charges. Discovered Telluride’s ugly side here.
