Mountain Lodge at Telluride is an absolutely spectacular experience. My husband Tom B and I want to mention one person who made our stay unforgettable: Sasha. Sasha is the best part of a fabulous resort. The people make the place, so for those looking for the very best ski resort in conjunction with world class care, ask for Sasha in The View Dining. We will return many times because of his kindness and friendship. Spasiba, Sasha!

Cool inside lodge feel. The food tasted fine - we had the trout and the elk bolognese. However, at $48 the trout was way over priced in a state that has trout everywhere! Not a lot of bolognese on the noodles either.

Giovanni who works the bar was amazing and a bright light. He was tentative and shined in The View at Mountain Lodge. Thank you and nice meeting you!

The service was run by untrained personnel, with the manager remained seated with guests during the entire dinner hour. The food was prepared well, but overall a disappointing experience. The wooden chairs were also rather uncomfortable.

The view (lower case "v") was spectacular. The food and service, not so much. The waitstaff was friendly but seemed inexperienced. Our first three tries to order wine off their list were strikes - they either couldn't find the bottle (that was their explanation for the 1st try), or they were out of it (the 2nd and 3rd try). The chicken pot pie was good. The trout and toasted almond brown butter sauce was overcooked, but the accompanying mushrooms/asparagus/tomatoes were good.

I’m pretty sure I was at this restaurant when the last reviewer walked in with his family and then promptly left. My husband and I wondered for a bit if we should have done the same due to some flubs, but opted to stick it out due to sheer hunger and the desire to move on to doing something other than eating our next meal.

Here is my honest review:

1. We walked in with a reservation already made on open table, only to find no host(ess) or wait staff anywhere to help us be seated. We walked up to a very busy bartender to ask for a table and for the breakfast menu. He told us to place a breakfast order quickly due to cutover to lunch hour. We were confused as we came to this restaurant for the brunch, and my husband was under the impression there was bottomless mimosas on the weekends as well as a decent brunch menu. Big fail here.

**Please note that this place seems to be a more informal restaurant meant for the hotel guests rather than a restaurant to be visited for the food or ambiance.

2. The bar tender was also the waiter for every single table in the place. He was kind and helpful and as attentive as he could be but impossible to do with several large families/tables plus a bar. We constantly had to ask for simple things - coffee, salt and pepper, etc, and felt bad to even have to ask. Shame on management for leaving him to fend for himself like that, especially on Father’s Day! So please note the service rating was not because of him, but because it was terribly understaffed.

3. My husband and I also understand smaller places in the mountains may run out of certain things… but they had no vodka for a Bloody Mary and no orange juice for a mimosa. What?! We specifically came here for Father’s Day brunch… which they did not have nor offer.

4. There is no “View”. It’s a small room, kind of dark, and it overlooks the pool.

5. Other staff were courteous and promptly refilled water glasses, brought out our meal hot, and cleared plates.

6. The food was decent in my opinion, though maybe a bit overpriced. But we expected as much coming up to Telluride, so not a big deal. Just wasn’t anything spectacular or memorable to write about.

We were left wanting, specifically due to the experience, but next time I’ll be sure to be the one to check Google reviews before booking, if my husband wants to go somewhere.

In the right setting, I’m sure this place is great, and can be a very happy place to drop in and eat at especially as a hotel guest. But I would not go out of your way to check out when visiting Telluride.

I would compliment the food, but I have yet to be able to eat there. My wife, family, and parents made the effort twice to walk to eat there. The first time they said that they were closing in a few minutes to host a private party and the second time we waited for 20 minutes, only to be told that none of the wait staff had showed up. There were a few people already dining.?We’ll never go back.

I booked the “bottomless mimosa brunch” that they advertise on their website as my wedding rehearsal brunch. I booked this and emailed the restaurant months in advance to confirm my group of nine could order off both the breakfast and lunch menu, since we all have dietary restrictions and the lunch menu alone is very limited. The restaurant confirmed that yes, we could order breakfast and lunch, hence the “brunch” booking, and I was thrilled to have brunch in such a beautiful restaurant.
I should have known there was a reason why this restaurant is always empty. The day of our brunch, at 12:30pm, we ordered mimosas, and then we were told we could not order breakfast and had to choose from the ~5 options on the lunch menu. We were the only people in the restaurant and they would not make an exception. What a disappointment. Our server was very apologetic and I cannot blame him. But I would never come back here or recommend to anyone.
We also had dinner here the night before and were unimpressed with the again very limited selection. Go elsewhere.

The View was not able to honor our confirmed reservation do to a special event they failed to account for in their reservation system, with you. We were offered a pair of table poolside among noise and thong bathing suits donned by less than thong worthy bods, with our two small children. Everyone looked at us like we'd just invaded the party. The tables could not be pushed together completely due to the necessary umbrellas and the situation was all around awkward and uncomfortable. We left.

We had a lovely experience at The View. The staff at the restaurant was very helpful with helping us decide on a wine and making modifications to our dinner order. The view was picturesque and we will definitely go back next time we are in town.

The View Restaurant was a fantastic venue and little off the beaten path . We stayed in Telluride and it was an easy gondola ride and a short walk to this restaurant. The elk bolognese with fresh pasta was incredible served with fresh baked cheese crusted bread. A really great wine menu and a beautiful view of the surrounding San Miguel mountains. We dressed up a little as we like to do from time to time and were extremely comfortable with friendly faces and servers. You should definitely give it a try!!!

My husband and I were in Telluride for our 25 wedding anniversary. When we made reservations they ask if it's for a special occasion. We were seated near a large group. Although the restaurant has a great view, only one of us could see it. the food and beverage manager was very condescending to our waiter and we could hear it because we were close to the bar where it was happening. He was humiliating the waiter in front of other staff and they were laughing. The poor waiter didnt speak English very well. . The food was tasty,, slightly over priced but it's expected in Telluride. I had the trout which was slightly overcooked but the flavor and vegetables were delicious. My husband had steak and he said it was cooked to perfection. Overall pleasant experience.

We got the Monte Cristo and the burger which were phenomenal alongside the truffle fries. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, and you can’t be the location.
