After a hard day shopping with my wife, this was a perfect stop for dinner. Note they are not open everyday for dinner. Starting with the sustainable coffee they serve which was perfect for giving enough boost to recover from the Marathon shopping journey. The hill billy breakfast hit the spot. Loved their sausage patties and the blue berry bread was a perfect ending. My wife enjoyed her corned beef hash not from the can topped with hollandaise sauce . Great food in a friendly atmosphere. They have great coffee

I have been coming to this Doug’s location for about a year. It has become a spot for myself and friends, sometimes my wife and I and most recently, by myself for a fulfilling meal at a fair price. I do try and get there on the early side to avoid having to wait for a table, but they do a good job at turning customers to accommodate for larger parties.

The staff has always been welcoming, making sure to get your coffee topped off as the servers walk by. I also love how they treat all customers, especially seeing that they know the names of many of the patrons each time I’m there.

I may not have achieved “regular” status just yet but when it’s time for breakfast and I don’t want to cook, this is the place I’m going and taking others with me.

I prefer the Grandma’s Hot Cakes. As a self proclaimed pancake aficionado, you won’t find better around town. They are massive and hit the spot. I also like their bacon, it’s not my go to breakfast meat of choice, but they are thick strips that are not too crispy or chewy.

Thank you Doug’s Diner for providing a great place for locals to get their breakfast fix.

It's taken me years to post this review, and for that I apologize. Back in early 2021, I called the Doug's Diner in Thornton to place a take out order. While on the phone, the manager who was taking my order noticed that I was struggling to speak, getting choked up, and he asked me if I was ok. I then explained that Doug's diner was my father's favorite restaurant and he was in his final days dying from stage 4 lung cancer and that this meal was most likely going to be his last good one. When I got there to pick up the order, I was greeted by an immediate warm and loving hug from one of the servers, then told that my father's meal had been comped. To receive that level of kindness and compassion from complete strangers, during one of the most difficult moments of my life is something my family and I will NEVER forget. My father thoroughly enjoyed his favorite meal one last time, and I will forever be grateful to the manager and rest of the staff at Doug's Diner for their immense generosity. Thank you!

This location is on the smaller side so the odds of having to wait for a table is high! But I can say, we only had to wait 5, maybe 10 minutes!

The food portions are huge! Which was honestly surprising. But in a good way because I’m a big fan of having a meal for later. But I sadly didn’t love what I ordered.

I got a side crepe, putting both the strawberry and peach jams on the side, so I could try both 😉 and the peach was by far superior, in my opinion. But the crepe itself was so sweet…I think the batter was mainly sugar which isn’t bad if you love sweet things and a little undercooked for my preferences. So I’d give it a 3/10.

The breakfast burrito, I really wanted to love but it was packed full of veggies and I may be weird for saying this, but I don’t want veggies in my breakfast burrito. Lunch is a totally different story, but it was my mistake for not clarifying what came in the burrito. 5/10

Our server (I’m bummed I don’t remember his name) was super kind and funny and was really patient with us as we were trying to narrow down what we wanted. He’s a young man, high school or maybe early college, but he was super helpful!

And the parking is terrible. The lot isn’t huge in front of Doug’s so I recommend parking at king soopers and walking a tiny bit. Especially if it’s during a busy “brunch” time!

Not a half bad spot up in Thornton. The portion sizes of the burgers are quite large! Although I requested mine to come medium, it was quite well done but that's not the end of the world. Our server was kind and promot. They were very accommodating to large parties.
