You will find better chicken at McDonald’s. Donuts are better but still not comparable to Mr. Yo’s or Lamar’s

A gem! I came in today before heading to work just to grab something quick and ended up leaving with three different things. I love that they have special donut flavors for the month that coincides with the season. Their chicken donut was DELICIOUS— the breading on the chicken is unique and I’d eat spoonfuls of the bacon jam. I got the peach dossant and peaches and cream donut. Both were good, although the dossant had some burnt parts on top. Either way, a really cute place, I plan on coming back sometime with my boyfriend to try lunch! Staff was kind, although pretty busy. Poor girl had to make drinks and get those out before taking my order. She handled it amazingly though and was incredibly kind! As someone who also works in food service, the pricing is absolutely fair for the time and creativity they put into their dishes.

I have given this restaurant 3 chances, and every time just gets worse. The food is very overpriced for the quality. The staff is rude. I’m all for supporting small businesses but this is not one I would support. The last time I went in the owner was working and he himself was not friendly.

Had one of these house invented chicken doughnut sandwiches about 4 years ago (maybe longer) and it was best described as the invention of a mad chef. But that is the price of genius, as I have thought about that sandwich about everywhere since I ate it. And when I showed up at 12 thinking that I had just missed my chance for true happiness, the friendly and helpful staff not only let me order off menu but help me the recreate it, with a twist. Let me tell you it still tastes of love and heart attack, and is worth all 2000 cal. If the owner still reads these, it was you I think behind the grill all those years ago and your crew is doing you proud. And if you remember I am the guy the swore this as his last, so as to order 15 and drop with a smile on my lips long be for the chair. Keep it up folks.

Highly impressed for my first time there! They seem to run promotions throughout the week mine was $1 donut with purchase of coffee. The only complaint I have is with navigating their website. I can’t find the weekly promotions and I don’t have social media but if it was online I may go even more for the deals.

Had a wonderful meal at the food truck located at Odell Brewing Company. I had the Rancher with a side of waffle fries. One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. The waffle fries were so crispy too. Would recommend this place. I am definitely going to try their brick and mortar. Keep up the awesome food and great customer service.
We came in to grab brunch before my mother in law left town. I am with a group that has many types of allergies. Typically they can find something anywhere so we weren't too concerned. To backyards credit, the only allergy we had was my mother in law who couldn't eat the chicken, because she could taste the histamines from being stored too long. It wasn't great chicken, pretty good doughnuts, I liked the variety of options. I could also taste what she was talking about in the chicken. It didn't taste fresh by any means. Don't get me wrong, we are close with her side who raises farm to table their own chickens so I know fresh chicken, and this was not it.
Not I may have just caught them on a day where they were trying to clear out the old stock or whatever it may have been but the price point in comparison to the quality is not worth me going back, there's plenty of chicken places around town that I prefer. Again, if you like doughnuts, this is totally worth the stop. You're going to be paying above Lamar's prices for the same quality but it is good. All in all, I won't be back. It was fun to stop in at, if youre like I used to be and don't notice the age of the meat and have no problem with paying a little more, absolutely worth going to hang out.
The chicken from this place is awesome! I recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The donuts are a cherry on top. It's hard to find a place that uses quality ingredients in Northern Colorado but this place does it exceptionally well. Matt and his employees are a breath of fresh air. Come to Backyard Bird! It's the real deal!

I never leave reviews but the food was SO bad I HAD to! The chicken tastes like the chicken they use for Asian teriyaki food. You are better off driving less than a mile West to get a chicken sandwich from Chic-Fil-A & a donut from the gas station.
Me and a coworker went in today , and let’s just say we will never be back. Both of our food tasted like it was sitting out all day and it was 10am. The breakfast burrito I had was 90% potatoes and next to no chicken.🐓 the donuts where like day old gas station donuts. Save your time DONT EAT HERE!!!! McDonald’s would be a better choice 😔
Service was very good and polite. Food was really good, tasty chicken!
Ate from the food truck at the rally. Second bite in I found a vein in my chicken sandwich and couldn’t even pull it apart with my teeth. On top of that, a tiddlywink of sauce on my fries with so much oil left over I could start an Exxon mobile. 34 bucks for 2 sandwiches and fries is a bit excessive for a sandwich with veins in it.
