Much needed stop after driving from Maroon Bells/Independence Pass. Area is gorgeous! Food was good (I appreciated the kids menu) and my son says it was the best Caesar salad ever!! Hopefully sometime we can stay at the Inn!

I had such a lovely stay at this inn. Twin lakes is super tiny. I wanted a mountain escape and it's exactly what I got. It was a very homey vibe. I didn't have a bathroom in room but it was just steps away. The place was so quiet it was perfect. Great star gazing, amazing fall colors. I had dinner one night too and everything tasted wonderful. Breakfast was very convenient and they had a lot of options, including a very delicious veggie frittata.
I will definitely return. Loved it.

Rooms: Quaint & comfortable. No TV but good WiFi.

Nearby activities: Lake steps away. Trails all over. Leaf viewing & star gazing galore.

Walkability: Not much around Twin lakes but it's all right here

We loved staying at this place ! The views are stunning - perfect location for hiking, kayaking etc , an hour from Aspen, 30 min to Leadville and Buena Vista . Inn is western and charming, well run, total attention to detail including bath Robes and lots of little things- friendly and helpful management - fun and quirky decor - and a lobby and outside tables to hang out - general store next door and a coffee shop - Inn has a really good restaurant open at night. A classic Colorado experience !

For some reason, Google deleted my original post.
I love this place but, sadly, I cannot get there often enough. The dining here is top notch and the hospitality is even better. This is truly a rustic experience. There are no TVs or phones in the rooms which makes it easier to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff is very helpful and the proprietor, Andy, will go out of his way to make sure your experience is a pleasant one. Evenings can get a little bit hectic for the staff because the restaurant draws a lot of people in from BV, Leadville, and even over the pass in Aspen. So have a little patience with your servers, they will work hard to honestly give you the best experience in this area. This place is a well established and integral part of Twin Lakes and should definitely be on your to-do list.

Great place to stay in the Rocky Mountains! Located near many hiking trails and lakes. The rooms were very comfortable and well-decorated. The best part was all of the attention to detail. They left multiple water bottles, vitamin c packets, coffee and creamer, etc., and various small notes in the room like the one that suggested that I try the natural spring water from the tap. The walls are a bit thin, but that is to be expected with a building of this age and it was not a problem at all during my stay.

Here's the refined review:

We loved the whole dinner experience at the Twin Lakes Inn and Saloon!!! The staff was super friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was just exceptional—every dish we tried was outstanding!! The walleye and corn casserole were fantastic and the salmon and BBQ chicken sandwich were equally excellent. The food presentation was truly special, with great attention to detail that made each dish as beautiful as it was delicious. High kudos to the chef and staff for delivering such an amazing experience. The beautiful views added to the ambiance, and the cheesecake was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal!!!

Twin Lakes Inn is a “must see” place to stay and explore the area or enjoy in for dinner (with reservations!). Our family stayed overnight one weekend but we enjoyed the restaurant several times while in the area. Amazing historic, quaint hotel with nice rooms and lots of little amenities as well as a great staff. Food and service at the restaurant was outstanding (try the smoked wings, bone in pork chops and old fashioned or manhattan)! Daytime the patio and food trucks are great (can’t go wrong with ribbon fries at Punky’s!)
It’s 145 years old but really cool and well maintained. Kind of hybrid of a historic hotel / bed and breakfast feel but really well done. Tons of activities in the area (hiking (+14ers), boating, fishing, mountain / road biking etc. I’d highly recommend it.
