My god this place is great! First of all, the owner was the sweetest most charismatic & welcoming guy - I could have sat in there all day listening to him chat up customers.And the food was just as warming & good! We got the cluster - which is basically a bbq bowl of goodness - and a half rack of ribs that were fall of the bone good. So Smokey and juicy! The sauce was excellent. 10/10 - will go out of my way to stop thru here again on my next trek thru Colorado!Thanks for fillin our hearts & our bellies!

Very friendly and down-to-earth! The food and experience was so awesome that we had to go back for a second meal during our 1-week stay a half hour a way from Walden.
Our family had the brisket plate and pulled pork sandwiches with sides of baked beans, potato salad, Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The owner made sure everyone was satisfied their meal and was very nice. Would go back again if we come back to this area.

Food is really good here. Ate there twice when I visited Walden. Only downside is it's not open everyday...you have to plan your visit.

This was one of the best experience I’ve out at a restaurant. The food was fabulous but it was the proprietor that was by far the reason this was such a good experience. While I was getting myself situated at the table I pinched my left ring figure between the cushion & the wood frame. It was very painful. Our waiter, who I believe is the owner, came to take our order I explained to him what had happened. Prior to the explanation I said I was telling him for information only so no one else would get hurt. He was extremely apologetic. Changed my chair & then comped my meal as well as the other person’s. This man had to be one of the nicest folks I’ve ever met. And authentically so. I would highly recommend this place not just because of how they handled my situation but because the food was excellent!

One of us coming from Texas and one coming from the Carolina's, we weren't sure what to expect from a BBQ joint in Middle of Nowhere Colorado.But it was fantastic. The whole meal was excellent, service was friendly and chill - and the food was amazing. Prices are good, understanding that good food isn't $3/lb.When we come back next year, we will be stopping in and also ordering some to-go!

I ate there two years ago and failed to write a review. Shame on me as it is still a wonderful memory of great food and a new friend. I had read the reviews and knew the owner's name was Larry. When I opened his door he was behind the counter and I called out his name like we were old friends. He looked a little puzzled but gave my family and I a warm welcome. From the reviews I read, I inquired if Deb, (a waitress) was working today. Now he really looked puzzled. We ordered our food (there were 5 of us so we had a little bit of everything) all the while talking with Larry. We were there at an "off" hour and pretty much had the place to ourselves. I finally told Larry that I only knew him through the reviews and we all had a big laugh. From then on we were not customers we were family. I have never laughed so hard swapping tall tales with him throughout our meal there. It's one of those times you never want to end. The Best BBQ I had from Florida to Colorado and I eat a lot of BBQ. The BEST food and some of the best memories were made sitting at the table at this restaurant with a fine gentleman who knows his BBQ. I hope he remembers us as fondly as we remember him. I cannot recommend this place enough.
