We had the best burgers and I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and my husband's favorite was the onion rings. We will definitely be back!!
Stop my beating heart!
The CUTEST cafe inside an adorable, log cabin lodge! Our server (I don’t remember her name😢) was so fantastic with menu help and knowledge of the local area. She told us where the town moose hangs out, confirmed that we DID INDEED see pelicans and gave us the best hospitality!
The food was delicious! I had the salad with grilled chicken and it was ENORMOUS! Like a serving platter of salad with 2 perfectly cooked chicken breasts on it. My husband had a burger and salad and same thing, 10 gold stars
Food was great. Better than expected. The salad was huge! Very friendly and kind staff. Very cool decor. Definitely a hidden gem in Walden.
Top-notch burgers, great little restaurant and hotel. Great beers on tap, super- friendly staff, what more can you ask for?
Normally, I've enjoyed every visit here. This visit reflected long delay to take order, get drinks, be greeted, ultimately requiring order to go experience as they would not delay making the order or cancel it to allow a return visit after the parade. Kindness returns more of the same. I left saying, obviously, my error going to the River Rock Cafe an hour before parade starts.
Visited on a Saturday night in July, wasn't too busy.
Chicken fried steak wasn't bad, I've had worse.
The regular steak tasted the same as the cheeseburger. They must using the same seasoning on both...
Gluten free buns available for hamburgers.
Mixed vegetables likely microwaved.
Saturday has a ribeye special for like $40.
Good food. Big portions. Nice staff.
We loved this place. The food was delicious (we got burgers) and reasonably priced and the atmosphere was perfect. What a find!
I didn't have too high expectations in a small town but this was better than expected. I'm a vegetarian so was excited to see multiple options, and it's typical American food but fresh and well prepared with attention to detail (e.g. toasted bun). Nice stop to break up a long drive! Affordable prices too.
I’m a burger snob, BUT this was the best restaurant burger I’ve ever had.

It's a perfect stop, tucked into a beautiful town. The restaurant and bar are gloriously finished with unique details. I hope to stop whenever I'm in Walden, Colorado. A big plus is that the food is delicious!

Always treated well and food is pretty good. Short staffed can be a problem, but that is in every restaurant in the Colorado Mountains. River Rock is the go to in Walden.

This is a great little small-town restaurant with a mountain lodge vibe. Lots of options on the menu. We had the hamburger and the open-face turkey sandwich, and both hit the spot perfectly! Great bang for the buck. So a good beer list, very friendly service, reasonable prices on the menu, and a clean bathroom. Too bad I forgot to take pictures...

River Rock is always amazing when we come in. We have been hunting the Cowdrey area for over 30 years and it's always nice to have one night of hot food we didn't have to cook in our bellies.
Kid-friendliness: We had a very tired/hangry toddler with us. The staff all greeted her and treated her with respect, one waitress even played with her while we were getting ready to go.
Love small town hospitality like this!
