My favorite Mexican restaurant on the front range. I have tried probably 1/2 of the giant menu and haven’t had anything I didn’t like. The menudo or steak tampiqueña are my personal favorites. The margaritas are large and STRONG. Vibes are always right here. Can’t go wrong.

Best restaurant in Wellington

Wellington is a small town, the last stop for travelers heading north to Wyoming. If you’re traveling through, this is your best bet for a yummy meal.

The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and reasonable prices. We’ve never had a bad meal in the 5 or so years we’ve been dining here. Great salsa (chips are fine). My favorites are: carnitas place, enchiladas (cheese, green sauce, red sauce, cream sauce). The margaritas are fantastic, and it’s a geberous pour (prepare to get buzzed - i usually cannot finish obe over dinner). Great for kids, as they allow sharing without a surcharge. Take out is reliable- same quality and they always get the order right.

Decor / ambiance is festive and colorful. Staff is friendly and efficient. Management is super responsive to guests. The one and only issue we had (they mixed up a togo order and gave us two separate plates instead of a combo) was quickly resolved with a friendly apology and our choice of a refund or gift card for the inconvenience of getting too much food… how’s that for great customer service.

We’ll definitely be back, and soon (remembering their mouthwatering carnitas and planning our weekend accordingly)

Parking: Lots of free street parking available.

Kid-friendliness: Shareable plates without surcharge.

This place does basic Mexican food very well. They have a large menu to choose from. The servers are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is colorful and themed for Mexican dining. A small town gem to try and enjoy repeatedly.

I love that Wellington has a Mexican food restaurant. Most of the dishes that we've had here were good. I would NOT recommend the white sauce that occasionally I order on enchiladas and burritos. It has a very strange smell and taste to it. My friend thought cinnamon, I thought something floral, like lavender. Anyway, something weird that throws the whole dish off. Our plates nor food were hot either. With a few minor changes this Mexican food restaurant could be great,

Partner called in dinner: #24 two burrito combo and a tortilla soup. Asked for a scoop of guac for the burrito on the side and some white sauce. Also asked if chips and salsa come with a to-go order, guy on phone said sm or LG? We ordered a sm.

I go to pick: Order is messed up and given 2 separate entrees... They correct the ticket and total still comes to $53 (corrected from $66)... Get home and actually have time to look at ticket vs what we actually received, charged $5 for a scoop of guac, $5.25 for sm chips AND $5.25 for sm salsa???

We asked if take out still gets chips and salsa and we're charged $10.50??? Would have 100% passed if that was made apparent. Also the $5 scoop of guac was a whole massive dish, just asked for a 1oz serving of guac.

Food was okay, not as good as it's been in the past. Pork in burritos seemed very salty. Tortilla soup seemed pretty subar at $14.

All in all: A really disappointing experience. Looking for a delicious, local, affordable, take out option and found our selves with over priced and lackluster meal.... We will surely look elsewhere in the future. Fort Collins is only 15 minutes away.

This is a great small town, and a great opportunity missed for a Mexican restaurant. Shredded beef was tough, not marinated. Chimichanga wasn't really deep fried. Maybe broiled? Also could be inexperienced staff.

Having lived in Arizona, Texas, Montana and visited Colorado Springs several times on business I have tried a lot of Mexican food. This was just meh. Combined with the slow service experience. I would take the advice of the locals we asked. Go to the grill restaurant just a bit down the road, avoid this one.

This place has all of the tourist pricing, none of the boutique quality. Cheaper and better food in Dallas TX, and Tucson, AZ.
