Here's the thing, I used to have Chappys rated 5 stars because the food is delicious. But I'm dropping it down to 3 because I got overcharged the last TWO times I came in. Both times I ordered to-go, so I tipped 3-5% because I wasn't taking up space, but I recognized Jersey was running around by herself taking care of a full restaurant. I just checked my credit card statement and was charged for an 18% tip and a 15% tip on those transactions. I'm disputing...
The owner makes the best grilled burger I think I've had dining out, and the fresh cut fries are a delicious side. Sit at the bar and chat with the friendly staff working the grill and prep. Don't be surprised if the waitress needs a bit of time to get to you, as they're often busy, so go during off hours if you can. The owner of the place was there behind the bar making the food and keeping a cool head even though he was short staffed and busy.
