We had a great time at Pietra’s. We reserved their party room any it was amazing! They had a salad and pizza buffet, very reasonable. Good food and great atmosphere Their service and attention to us was outstanding! Thank you for making our friend’s birthday a special one!

Service was okay, nothing too memorable. Food used to taste much better. I recently ordered again, and the quality seems to have gone down. I just learned they recently changed their kitchen staff, and it was very noticeable in terms of taste. I probably won’t buy from here again.

It saddens me to write this review.I have not lived in the Denver area since 1986, but I visit every year and sometimes more. We always eat at Pietra's when we are in town. My dad absolutely loved Pietra's. In early Aug., we had a family reunion in Denver. After the reunion, we do what we always do when in town, we ate at Pietra's. We had 15 people... our immediate family, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces. We had the salad of course, and 5 pizzas. After my first piece of pizza, I made the comment that the crust was different - not as good. Actually, not good at all. Everyone agreed. Folks, whatever you did, undo it! The pizza has been the standard for out family for more than 50 years. Please go back to the old recipe!!!

Skimpflation just met shrinkflation. This is the first time in over 30 years of eating here that I have been disappointed. Four pepperoni per slice and the slice is half the size it use to be.

I've been a customer my whole life, my father used to bring us here as kids and it has always been a great experience. That is until last night, I took my husband and my MIL to experience the Pietras experience.

We walked in and was told by Kitchen staff to sit anywhere. It took 10 minutes for Nikkye to bring us menus and then hovered over us for drink order.

Food was ordered and brought to table. Food was delicious as always. My problem came when it was time to pay the check. I gave Nikkye my card for the bill and she went to run it. Because I have bank notifications on my phone, I saw the check ran once but canceled then ran again but at a higher price.
When she came back to the table, she said my card declined once and so she ran it again and it went thru. Problem is the total she ran was not the price of the bill.

She decided she wanted a 20% tip, canceled first card run because no tip was added. When she came to get card to initially run the check we had put a cash tip on the table, that she saw. But still decided to add 20% to the card run without my approval.

I took a picture of the receipt with total for food/service was $48 and some change. The amount ran on my card was $58.55 which shows further down receipt as a total with a 20% tip.

No manager to be found to correct this fraud/theft. So cash tip was picked up off the table by my husband and was not happy at all. Wait staff padding the bill is not appropriate and should be illegal, if not a fire-able event.

Our family was excited to try a new local spot and came across Pietra’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant. With a history dating back to 1964 and being family-owned, we had high hopes for a great experience.

When we arrived, the restaurant didn’t appear to be very busy. However, the hostess seemed preoccupied with phone calls and unfortunately didn’t acknowledge us or indicate that she would be with us shortly. Other staff members walked by but didn’t offer assistance either. After a noticeable wait, we were finally seated.

We looked over the menu and found it a bit surprising that garlic wasn’t listed as a topping option—especially for a place that emphasizes homemade Italian cuisine. As we waited, we also noticed that the décor felt outdated—not in a charming, vintage way—and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant left something to be desired.

Despite being seated in the middle of the dining room, we weren’t acknowledged by any waitstaff, even after several passed by. After waiting quite a while without any service, we ultimately decided to leave. I politely let the manager know about our experience, but unfortunately, he didn’t seem particularly concerned.

We ended up visiting Li’l Nick’s Pizza just a few minutes away and had a completely different experience—friendly service, clean environment, and great food (with garlic as a topping!). You can read my full review on their Google listing.
