Called for pizza delivery and after an hour called back to check on the status of the delivery and the man who answered the phone flipped out screaming!? Not sure what was goin on over there at that moment, but I called and asked about our order he put me on hold for a few minutes speaking to someone in the background then stated that it would be ten minutes more I mentioned that it has been one hour already then he started screaming that it has only been fifty minutes .. I stated that my first call to order was exactly one hour prior to this call and he started screaming that he is a good man! So, I said I’m not not saying your a bad man it’s just that it’s been an hour already, but he continued to scream I can tell by his voice he was shaking angry and then screamed - I will cancel your order! and I said that’s fine your choice.
My order was a Jumbo pizza for $40 bucks and he canceled my order because he messed up and failed to provide. Usually, it’s the customer who cancels the order, but he canceled my order after patiently waiting over an hour at that point because he messed up! I guess he wasn’t a good man after all and even worse businessman if he cannot simply apologize. So be it he obviously does not need his hometown neighborly consumer business.
True Story, my family stopped going to Zanis Pizza many years ago and figured it’s been so long why not give them an order. We had stopped going when after eating we asked for a few slices of pizza to be boxed up and I saw the man drop the slices onto the floor and then picked them up and put them into the box and handed it over to my child. He didn’t notice that I saw him so I didn’t argue I just tossed the box into the trash outside his door and just never went back. I do not argue with restaurants who have poor business practices I just never go back. So many years has passed since then and wanting to support my hometown business I figured to give them another chance and then this happens with the disgruntled screaming phone man.
Whelp, that is on them to turn away good money and lose business so instead we went down to Hot Tamales in Seymour, had dinner a few drinks and sang karaoke.
Thank you, Zanis disgruntled screaming phone man for providing us with a great dinner experience in Seymour at Hot Tamales.

11/23/24 I just got off the phone with Zamis as I ordered a jumbo pizza half veggie half meat at for $47 at 6:18pm, i was told 45 mins for the delivery which is fair. I called at exactly 7:18pm as no delivery yet n asked if the order can be checked up on. He put the phone down I heard him yelling at someone then came back to say the order will be out in 10 mins. Honestly sounded like he forgot the order or something. I mentioned how disappointed I was to wait more time and he immediately became irate yelling saying that he is not a bad person. Like whoa! Sir calm dowwwn I never said he was a bad person 🤦🏻♀️ obv he was having a bad night then without me even insinuating that I wanted to cancel he immediately yelled if I wanted to cancel cause “he’ll just cancel it right now” wow. Of course I said go ahead and cancel then, obv he forgot about the order and instead of owning up to his issue he basically let his anger out on me., and slamming the phone I should add. People forget that businesses need customers to keep business flowing. There are many pizza shops in ansonia that we could’ve chose from but we chose them and were willing to spend almost $50 for one jumbo pizza plus added a tip on the card. Just wow! Be grateful for your business Zanis. I would hope that this guy was not the owner because it would be mind blowing to think that a business owner would behave so ridiculously. I hope there are no problems with the credit card charge either! Never again!

They were delicious, delivered right on time for our party, and the guy on the phone was so helpful in determining the best amount of pizzas to get for our party size! I wasn’t gonna review but I had to let it be known that the lasagna wasn’t what I expected. Tasted like it was frozen. And the pizza sauce didn’t taste authentic. I moved here a year ago and found Zuppardis. I wanted lasagna so I ordered here. Not to mentioned the prices are wayyyyyy different. I’m sorry but not again. EVER Oh wait the salad was good - small tossed salad

Often order from here and like their food. I asked for a 20oz soda but brought me a 2 liter. No big deal but when I called and confronted them about it, they said it was “no one’s fault”. And that the person who took the order was “new”. All I wanted was for him to admit fault and he refused. I would have accepted the 2 liter if he just simply said “our fault” but argued the fact. I’m a person of principle and forgiving. Too bad because I like their food.
