Got breakfast here for the first time. I ordered the Egg and Cheese Sandwich for $7.49 It came with 2 eggs with your choice of cheese served on bread of your choice And you can Add a breakfast meat for $3. I added bacon. Food was good besides my bacon. The bacon was definitely overcooked and didn’t taste good. I also grabbed some dog treats for my dog and a cold brew iced coffee. Staff here is super friendly. Establishment is clean. My favorite item I picked up here was their home made triple berry jam.

I ventured out to Sadie’s Sunrise Cafe in Berlin, CT on the most idyllic and sunny day to take a shot at their pancake challenge! Competitors have 30 mins to devour a massive stack of their pancakes. Winners get a t shirt and their meal for free. Losing this challenge however will only cost you $15 😳. With such a STEAL of a price tag, I had virtually nothing to lose.

The serving sizes here quite generous and ENORMOUS. My plate of challenge pancakes hit the table weighing about 4.5lbs, but my mom’s normal “short stack” still clocked in at 2lbs! Armed with water, sugar free syrup, and peanut butter, I began chowing down before the pancakes got cold.

These pancakes tasted fantastic! Unfortunately, flavor fatigue and a general sense of fullness hit me virtually out of the gate on this afternoon. Caught off guard by such an uncharacteristically muted appetite, my eating speed began slowing to a crawl. My perceived effort level multiplied along with an inner sense of self doubt. I knew the remainder of this challenge would be a grind. Luckily after an arduous yet delicious 17 mins, I officially finished all my pancakes, marking the end of my internal hurdles and earning me all the praise from everyone in the building 🥹!

Thank you so much to Andrea and Cristal for being so supportive and for cooking up some crazy delicious pancakes for me.

Service was great, food was nice too. Went in on a Friday morning and there was no waiting. Ordered breakfast and that too didn’t take long. I’m coming back for sure

I can't even count how many times I've been to Sadie's Sunrise Cafe. There used to be an awesome sandwich place open in this same location by the name of Lou & Mo's that closed abruptly so Sadie's had some big shoes to fill! Here's why this lil' cafe is my go-to place almost every Saturday after the gym! Atmosphere/Appearance: Located right in a small plaza on the edge of Berlin and Newington is this gem. There's a shared parking lot so there's no issue where finding somewhere to put your fly ride. The restaurant is small, after all, it IS a cafe. In the warmer months there are several tables outside complete with sun-blocking umbrellas if you wanted to get some air while you dine. Once inside it's cozy, quaint, open and welcoming. There are several 4-person tables in the middle, some more on the right and booths on the left wall. Straight ahead is the ordering counter and kitchen. Service: Andrea is the owner here and she's often in attendance. She's so sweet, welcoming and will happily speak. I've learned the names of different staff members throughout Sadie's tenure in this location, but they escape me for now. I've never had an issue here at all. Food: Yelp will not give me enough room to talk about every single thing I've tried from Sadie's menu. Lol. There's nothing bad here at all and their special's rotate often so be on the lookout for something new all the time! However, MY go-to... is a steak, egg and cheese bagel on an asiago bagel. Oh, but we're not done. Then add lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pepperjack cheese and garlic aioli. LORDY-LORD. So filling, amazing and... a bit pricey... No matter. We'll discuss that. This IS a cafe, but it's a high-quality cafe. Don't expect cheap diner food. My customized sandwich up there is about $15.00. It's an incredible steak bagel sandwich, but it's so amazing. Lol. Their menu had breakfast, lunch and dessert options that are all over the place, but you won't break the bank here. In conclusion, I will continue to keep coming to Sade's Sunrise Cafe. Andrea and friends have something GREAT here and I want to continue to see them thrive! Check this place out if you're in the area!

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Sadie’s Breakfast Café in Berlin, CT.

I was visiting from out of state and placed a takeout order. One of the items had a hair in the food—unfortunately, it was my daughter’s meal. Finding a foreign contaminant in a child’s food is disgusting and immediately made the entire order feel unsafe and inedible.

What made this worse was the response when I called the restaurant. I was told this “doesn’t happen often,” and based on that, they were only willing to refund the single item with the hair. That response made me feel like I was being penalized for something that was entirely out of my control. It was not my fault that there was a hair in the food, and I should not be held responsible for paying for food that came from unsanitary conditions.

Because of the contamination, we did not eat any of the remaining food. I have never been treated this way when there has been a clear food safety issue, especially one involving a child’s meal.

As someone visiting from out of state, this experience left a very poor impression. Food safety and customer care should be handled with far more accountability and consideration.

Delicious, breakfast or lunch not your usual menu. Fresh food, and creative breakfast and sandwich options. Comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend. I had the grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with pesto on Texas toast. It comes with home-made potato chips. SO good! I took home a homemade smores brownie. That was excellent too!

This place is absolutely adorable, and the food was really good. This is a sit down restaurant, but you order at the front counter and then they bring the food to you when it's ready. Self serve for customizing your coffee. The prices are absolutely right as well.

I’m visiting from out of town. I came across this gem of a restaurant. I ordered a Reuben scramble skillet. A deconstructed Reuben sandwich with eggs and Texas toast. Amazing. So delicious. The owner was super nice. Thank you so much.
