I went here for breakfast around 730 am with 3 others. Atmosphere is amazing, they had acoustic live music early in the morning, they gave my son a free donut on the way out. Service was mostly good, they were extremely busy that morning so no complaints there. However, the food was un appealing. It did not look good, it tasted okay at best and 2 of us had stomach issues after. The food was really greasy and they definitely try too hard to make simple dishes fancy. I might be willing to try again in the future but I would not recommend this place.

Recently visited. Updated Old style diner decor. Coffee was very good. We ordered poached eggs over "their" homemade hash. It was excellent. ( better than some other places) Generous portions. I dont nornally rate homefries,but they are very good.* Not over cooked* the itailian sausage was excellent. Highly recommend.

This place is makes me so happy. The food is excellent. Uncle D, and his staff, are what truly make this place an amazing and classic diner. The people that are attracted here make the atmosphere light. Please, get a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant with avocado, it’s killer.

One of my favorite breakfast locations in the area. And it's no surprise it's always busy.
Some of the best service, atmosphere and food. Portion sizes are fantastic, too. We've typically gone for breakfast and they have live music, which is such a nice touch.
Highly recommend checking this place out and their hash is the best I've ever had. A favorite of ours since moving to the area several years ago.

2018- Totally unexpected. Great food, fresh fruit, and an offer of donuts for the kids. We just stopped while traveling and were pleasantly surprised. 2019- Again traveling, we took the time (2 min off highway) to stop both northbound and southbound a week later for a great meal. I really can’t stress enough how much I like Uncle D’s. As others have said, it’s the whole package, great food, reasonable prices, and staff who really care. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, everyone is pleasant, and takes the time to care. The service stands above even some of the finest restaurants I’ve been to. Add that to a clean facility that’s conveniently located and you’ve got a spot we’ll be visiting for years to come. 2024- We’ve now been coming here for years. While we don’t live close, Uncle D’s is our go to place anytime we’re near Hartford. They consistently provide great food & fantastic service in a fun atmosphere. I even appreciate that they’re taking a week off in early July. Giving your whole staff off to recharge is huge, especially in a small business. Uncle D’s for the win!!!
