Went on a Sunday night and the Steakhouse was empty, service was adequate except for the dirty utensils which was promptly addressed the Steak was excellent(except the dish it was cooked in broke in half) while I was eating it 🥩, my baked potato was 🥶 cold. For such a high end restaurant these inadequacies must be addressed…. Immediately.

***DON'T TRUST THEM ABOUT ALLERGIES***

My family and I had a meal here this evening. We were the only ones there; we had a reservation but they wanted us out in preparation for an event that may have impacted service. A fly buzzed around the table the entire meal. The service and food were fine, not amazing. The food was alright, although I wasn't very impressed.

While they were made aware of food allergies multiple times before and while ordering, I'm afraid I am having a bad allergic reaction like when I eat gluten. I sit typing this from my throne, itching, and regretting the evening between bouts of IBS diarrhea. I will likely take a week to recover, and I have a big interview coming up in a day and a half. Not what one wants to be dealing with!

I'm very disappointed to have had such a bad allergic reaction after I was so careful to pass up on so many amazing dishes this weekend to avoid this very issue.

I just hope my aunt isn't having her celiac triggered by this ridiculous situation as she will probably suffer for weeks (look it up, it's awful), but we had the same appetizer. I'm not hopeful.

They didn't even have any creme brulee left!

They had very few gluten free options, and when a plate broke while cutting steak, they still charged for the meal on a broken plate and sent my guest with the leftovers instead of a fresh steak (talk about dangerous). I've never even heard of that!

While they gave the table a couple deserts and coffees on the house, I don't feel good about how it was handled. I'm trying not to let my irritation cloud my judgement as it is probably fine most days, but I would not trust them if you have any food allergies.

Something is fishy here; and it's not just because my salmon was frozen.

*Edit the next day to confirm yes, my aunt who shared the same allergen, and so shared an appetizer, also had a reaction.*

Unfortunately it was definitely an issue of substantial gluten contamination, and I want to be clear that I bring this and the broken plate issue to attention because it's dangerous.

Foreign objects such a shards of porcelain can be life-threatening and I have never seen a customer be allowed to take the rest with them, be it to avoid evidence or potential injury, as there can likely be a piece of the plate hidden within the food. I have always seen another meal made to-go in this kind of situation or the meal comped. Never still charged and sent is potentially adulterated meat.

Further, knowingly giving someone an allergen is unethical, as allergic reactions can range from inconvenient and uncomfortable, to deadly, and last varying time-frames. Waiters need to inform the kitchen of allergies clearly, and they need to know how to properly avoid cross-contamination. There's just no way around it, if you're going to say you can accommodate someone you need to ensure you can deliver that promise.

You could kill someone. Keep going like this and somebody will sue; and you had better hope it's for personal injury and not wrongful death, as I hear that's an awfully pricey pay-out.

I hear those country club types have great lawyers too!

Trust me, going over allergen/food safety protocol with the entire staff is worth the investment, sooner than later!

My wife and I were looking forward to a romantic celebration of our 50th anniversary. Wrong place! Although our waiter, whose name we never got was fine, the atmosphere was awful. We ordered a celebratory martini and the meat and cheese board. We were never able to enjoy it. There was a table of 8 half in the bag club members sitting fairly close by. They were loud, obnoxious and vulgar. After a short time it became intolerable. We left. I understand that it is also a golf club but if you are going to market this as a steakhouse then make it a steakhouse .I also want to say that these club members were all well into their 60s and 70s We were greatly disappointed that we never got to enjoy a porterhouse for 2.

The food was worth every penny at this amazing restaurant. After a long week, the atmosphere was lively with music on the patio, overlooking the greens of Chippanee Golf Course.

One of the best steaks I ever had! Steak, sides and even entrees all really good. Beyond the Food and Service, the overall vibe was fantastic—warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of lively and relaxing. If you're looking for a place with Great food, Friendly Service, and an inviting atmosphere, Joseph’s Steakhouse is the spot! Highly recommend!

The only good thing here is the steak. The wait staff is slow and at times downright rude.

Joseph’s Steakhouse in Bristol is a solid choice if you’re looking for a great meal in a comfortable setting. The dining room is clean, bright, and nicely set up with big windows looking out at a peaceful patio and green space.

We started with the smoked salmon and Joseph's Special (bacon, burrata and tomatoes) appetizers—both were fresh, tasty, and looked great on the plate.

The ribeye steak was the highlight. Nice thick cut, cooked perfectly medium with a delicious crust and juicy inside. The sautéed mushrooms on the side made it even better. Their homemade steak sauce is worth trying—and you can even buy a bottle to take home.

The menu has a lot to choose from, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or planning a nice dinner out, Joseph’s hits the mark. We’ll definitely be coming back.
