My friends and I went for our Holiday dinner. We were greeted by the owner who was also our waitor, he was friendly and attentive. He sat us by the active fireplace, which we were greatful since the temperature was very cold in the dinning room.We noticed we were the only patrons in the restaurant which found odd since we were dinning on a Thursday Evening. The food and mixed drinks were excellent! We would return again but perhaps in the spring or summer when it is warmer.

Honestly the two things that I can say about this restaurant is they are disrespectful and disgusting! READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE- and notice that they only respond to the good comments because they do not care about better themselves or their service. Wasn’t even there for 10 minutes until we walked out and left due to the attitude and disrespect we were getting from our waiter not to mention the funky smell to the place that I was just barley dealing with. It was a Saturday night and we were the only ones in the restaurant, that should’ve been our sign to leave but we thought we were getting lucky! Nope, want a real meal and great service go down the road to Portobellos!! As a local who’s lived here my whole life this was by FAR the WORST restaurant and service I’ve ever experienced in this area. Common trend I noticed in the reviews - waiter was rude, which he was extremely. If they are this careless with how they treat their customers I can only imagine how careless they are in their kitchen with what we can’t see! Again, two words for this restaurant DISRESPECTFUL and DISGUSTING.

In terms of customer service and business etiquette, this was the worst restaurant experience ever. The owner who waited on us acted like he didn't want to be bothered probably because he had a larger group in the next room. When time came for the check, we politely asked if he could issue separate checks at which point he started literally screaming "I'm not a slave"(whatever the hell that means). At one point, he verbally abused one of the women in our group. Really disgusting. At this point, I'm thinking of contacting the Consumer Affairs of Connecticut.

In terms of customer service and business etiquette, this restaurant ranks at the very bottom. The owner who waited acted like he didn't have time for us probably because he was preoccupied wit a larger group in the adjacent dining room. When we politely asked if he could divide the check into three separate ones, he became indignant and began yelling "I'm not a slave" (whatever the hell that means) and at one point he verbally abused one of the women that was in our group. Really disgusting and totally unnecessary. I'm really thinking of contacting the Consumer Affairs of Connecticut.

Horrendous service. Empty restaurant There was no reason we should have bad service the waiter barely ever came over. Never checked on us never asked to refill drinks never brought bread or condiments that were asked for. Food was also bland.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly.

This has excellent service, food, and ambiance. Very respectful staff and beautiful interior.

The food was great and the place reminded us of an inn in Vermont. We were concerned that we were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. How can a restaurant survive like that? Hope it was just one of those wierd things that nobody decided to eat out on that specific day.

If you like thin crust pizza - this is the place for you! I personally am not a fan but the sauce was good and the service was exceptional.

The gentleman whoever is running this place was very rude. 11 of us left the place even without dining.Because we were 11 of us we requested to add one more table as there were only 10 chairs. And the guy said these exact words. “Are you guys eating dinner or pizza and the. He said there is another restaurant down the road you guys can go there as well”All this for requesting to add 1 table as there were not enough seats!!I do not recommend this place.

Worst experience ever. Went in for dinner, and the guy is very rude. Asked us to leave very rudely because he is the only one, he could have said I am the only in a nice way.Instead he was very rude and asked us to leave, this is not the way to treat a customer

Sammy is incredible - Usually running the whole place by himself but is always very friendly and makes sure everyone is taken care of. The food (especially the margherita pizza and eggplant rollatini) never disappoints. I’ve come in before just for a drink, and he’s given me a free sample of the dinner special at the time just to let me try it and ask my opinion. Can’t recommend enough, just remember to tip him well!

I have spent my entire life (and I'm no spring chicken) working in the restaurant business. I don't leave reviews often - reserved for either excellent or horrible experiences. This is a rare occasion where I'm leaving a mixed review. This place either has potential or is on a downward slide ... not sure what's happening. We dined on a Saturday night at 5 pm. The parking lot was empty when we arrived with only four other cars when we left an hour and a half later. Not a good sign. The building is almost 200 years old. I LOVE that. Anyone who bitches about the obvious age has no appreciation for history or architecture. So get over it. It's old and should be honored for its resiliency. If those walls could talk ..... But I digress. We had a reservation that clearly wasn't necessary. We were greeted by the owner and promptly seated by the fireplace. Our first course was the roasted beet salad for me and the stuffed grape leaf salad for my husband. Mine was okay. Nothing spectacular, but pretty good. My husband got the Mediterranean salad instead of what he actually ordered. When it became apparent that no one was checking on us, I shared my salad with my husband. When the owner (yes, that was our server all night) finally came to retrieve our plates I pointed out that his wasn't what he ordered. He apologized and explained that the grape leaf salad was the same but with stuffed grape leaves added. So he brought some on a bread plate. Self-assembled salad, I guess. And my husband ended up picking out the filling. The grape leaves themselves didn't impress him ( don't ask me, I don't like them in general). As an aside, the bread was excellent but the dipping oil could do with fresh herbs. Or garlic. Or something. It was bland. Next course was crab cakes for him and burrata for me. Lots of happy noises from hubby's side of the table. lol. No complaints from me about the burrata but that it's listed as truffle burrata. It very well may be, but the balsamic hides the possibility. The wait between courses here was inexplicably long. For the entrée my husband tried to order the Tuscan salmon but was told that they were out of it (as the first customers of the evening?) so he opted for the cod. Very good. I'm always impressed when the veggies on the side are bright and crunchy. So often chefs treat the sides as an afterthought. I ordered the Fettuccine Ponto Bello. I got Papparelle with shrimp and some kinda light tomato-garlic sauce. When I asked about it I was told that they're out of fettuccini and subbed the house-made pappardelle. I love pappardelle (considered ordering the pappardelle bolognese initially), and I'm all over a chefs tasting menu, but DO NOT SUBSTITUTE ANYTHING WITHOUT ASKING THE CUSTOMER FIRST!!!! It was good, but it was the second dish of the night that wasn't what we ordered!!! It didn't even have the arugula or the fresh mozzarella. We didn't even ask for a dessert menu. In summary: love the ambiance Good but not exceptional food Sub-par service

Made a reservation for 12 two weeks in advance for my parents’ 75th and 79th birthdays. Showed up tonight and we were told they had a party going on so they couldn’t do pizza for us, they were out of calamari, and asked us to choose 3-4 entrees that everyone would order because they couldn’t handle more than that. On top of that, the owner was rushing us to order, saying that we needed to get our orders in if we wanted our dinner in a decent amount of time. He rushed us for drink orders and he had never given us a drink menu. It was obvious he did not have the staff to handle his other event and our dinner for 12 (not to mention the other diners who had come in). We left and went to Portobellos who accommodated our table of 12 on the spot with amazing service. I’m not one to give a local business a bad review but this was like nothing I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant before.
