Best Sushi in the Area! I celebrated my birthday dinner here and it did not disappoint. We had the chef create two sushi rolls and he did an excellent job!! I highly recommend.

Best sushi I have had outside of Manhattan. Innovative, fresh, and delicious! Top quality fish in a casual setting. Wonderful family owned small business near Brookfield, CT.

Best sushi around and it’s not close. The ambiance won’t blow you away, when busy it can get a little slow, but I promise, the food is worth every penny and every minute of waiting if busy. The owners (staff) are very friendly and very professional. You won’t want to get sushi anywhere else after you try this place. My wife and I have been regulars for nearly a year now.

I had a delicious and delightful lunch at Amai Sushi today. Amber, the owner, took care of me and was very keen to explain items and offer suggestions. The King Salmon hand roll was so flavorful and high quality, I did not 'ruin' it by adding soy sauce. The vegetable tempura was light and fresh. I also had one piece of Toro, so buttery. The food and service were amazing. This is NOT a fast food restaurant...they are thoughtful in presentation and high quality sushi. I will definitely be back soon.

I love sushi, and based on reviews I placed an order. I was given sushi in a seaweed cone shape (not what a traditional hand roll would be from other places). It looked ok so I gave it a chance. Seaweed wrapper was tough/rubbery and the fish was very mushy and lacked flavor for a spicy roll.

Delicious fresh sushi. We dined in and the staff made us feel at ease and were very supportive. Love the welcoming connection.

I have been going here since they opened but I don't think I'll be going back. In spite of the food being expensive, I have always supported their business. I recently visited and there were two seats at the bar and two in the dining area. I was told the two at the bar were reserved and to sit in the dining area. I got seated, ordered my appetizer and drink and was served what I ordered. One bite into my food, the owner asks me to move to the bar because MY current seat is now reserved. I pick up my food and drink and move to a makeshift seat at the bar. I am very uncomfortable because my knee is hitting the cabinet as this is not intended to be a seat. The person who is now going to take my table apologizes profusely. The owner also apologizes but this is horrible service at this point. I then wait and wait and my main dish never arrives. I get up pay for my appetizer and drink and leave. In all my years, I think this is the worse I have been treated at a restaurant. I won't be back.

We’ve eaten sushi all over the world and this compares with any we’ve had anywhere including Japan. The kindest owners offering the highest level of quality and creativity !! A must stop.

Great sushi at an affordable price

World class sushi bar with great attention to detail. The chef prepared everything in front of us like tiny works of art. Try it and you'll see the difference.

I dined in. Very low key in design but nice and clean. I think our server also helped in the kitchen. What a rockstar. I’ve had sushi at many places from bad to great across the country. This place is amazing. Started with gyoza and salmon tartare. Best gyoza I’ve ever had. Wasn’t overly impressed with the tuna as a complete dish but the fish was so fresh and delicate. And who can go wrong with ponzu. Followed up with spicy girl and American dream roll, then the Nothing crazy about the roll combos. And they gave the classic: blue fin tuna, hamachi, king salmon and striped jack for small sashimi dinner. But once again, the fish was amazing. The rolls were so soft and literally melted in your mouth. When a place says you don’t need soy sauce or wasabi, they’re lying. Not this place. This fish tastes like it just came from the water. Care for products and attention to detail was incredible and thoughtful. Ended with nigiri(o toro, king salmon, scallop and king crab). I’ve said it twice already, won’t say it again. But it was goooooooooood! Wasn’t too busy, hope this place survives here! I’m in my mid thirties, work in the industry and this is the first place ever to make me write a review. Well worth it! 10/10! Cheers!

The best most authentic and imaginative sushi I have had North of I-95 area in CT. The delicious nigiri sushi is reminiscent of restaurants I loved in NYC like sushi of Gari. The quality is amazing, and the menu showcases the fish rather than fillers, like “crunch.” The owners were friendly and welcoming, and we will be back very soon!!!! Thank you for having us!
