Our family loves this place. We visit every time we are in CT visiting our family.

Busy bustling location in Danbury by the water where you can see the boats and ducks on CANDLEWOOD lake while eating classic American plates. Service is prompt , wait times are minimal, seating is plentiful. Their DTH burger is great and portions are filling. Not your gourmet dinner - but a quality local experience that is thoroughly appreciated.

Locals know this is one of the best summer hangouts on Candlewood Lake. Average (not great) pub food so stick with the sandwiches/wraps, burgers and fries. Seating is on a deck and patio overlooking the lake and there is a ramp for accessibility. There's ample parking for boats and cars but it fills up quick on the weekends. Nice place for a sunset drink.

On a recent trip through Connecticut, my family and I stopped at Down the Hatch for lunch. It’s a pretty nice lakeside restaurant. There’s a large outdoor seating area that overlooks the lake; very nice. The atmosphere is casual and if you’re on the lake you can pull your boat up to their dock. Pictured is the lobster roll which was fantastic. The servers and hosts were all very friendly and attentive. If I were to be in the area again I would definitely make s as return trip, maybe for a nice evening dinner. Prices were reasonable.

We loved it. Pulled our boat right up and ordered delicious lobster rolls and Pina coladas.

Great summer time bar and restaurant on the lake. On nice days it is HOPPING! If you want a quieter experience go on a rainy day.

Parking: When bussy there is extended parking beyond their normal lot.
