Always drove by this place going to rhode island or Massachusetts for work. Tried it today. Service was a bit slow, looks like it was the bartender doing the tables as well. She was friendly, but was spread thin especially when she had to run the bar. The food was good, fries were nice and crispy, price of the food was ok, its more of a bar atmosphere, so nothing fancy.

Hank’s is hands down one of the best spots in the neighborhood. The food is always on point, comforting, and done really well — the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know it’s going to be good every single time.
Amy and Matt put their whole hearts into this place, and it truly shows. They care deeply about the food, the space, and the people who work there, and that energy carries through to the staff. Everyone is hardworking, friendly, and makes you feel genuinely welcome.
It’s a local spot in the best sense of the word — great food, great people, and a place that feels like home. Brooklyn is lucky to have Hank’s.

From the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel welcome. The staff is friendly, attentive, and truly cares about the guest experience.
The food is consistently excellent—fresh ingredients, great flavors, and beautifully presented. My personal favorites are the famous prime rib and the Philly steak sandwich.
The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, whether you’re coming in for a casual meal or a special occasion.

Been going to Hanks now for over 20 years. Always good food, almost always great service. Tonight, friday,Jan 2, 2026, was no different, hubby got the prime rib, he said it was so good. Then it happened. Oh no, what. He was stuck to the booth. The booth was ripped, the spring came through and stabbed his backside. He managed to free himself from the spring, but it had ripped his jeans. He called over the waitress, not our waitress but the first one he saw. He told her what happened, spring came through the rip in the booth and snagged his jeans and backside and ripped his jeans. She was awesome, apologized and went and got tape to temp fix the booth. Between hubby and the nice waitress together, they were able to temp fixed the booth. The waitress apologized again, said the owner was in house and she would notify him immediately and said he would come over and make sure everything was OK. Not only was he notified of the issue, but only came out of the kitchen to converse with people in another booth. Smh! Hanks, shame on you. You need to do better! you just lost our business. May not be much, loosing our measly $100 monthly meal, but we have standards on where we spend our hard earned money. It's unfortunate that we will never go back. A simple check in and a personal apology from the owner, who was present, would have made all the difference. Koodos to the great (blonde) waitress. Wish I could remember her name, she was great.
