Absolute BEST bagels ever. I’ll drive the half hour to try and get them on a Sunday morning.
Its kind of wild that in 2026 a business decides to be cash only...could at least have an operational atm in the building. Sucks to drive from out of town for nothing. Never again.
Hello shef,
I am writing as a loyal Shefs lover. However, I am sad. I’m home in the shire only on holidays now, and it’s such a sad experience to drive to my favorite bagel shop and see the sign “no bagels.” I bring these bagels to my roomates in Boston, I used to bring dozens back to college. I love Shefs. Can you get another oven or expand the kitchen? I had to go to bagelicious. Back in the day, my friends and I can go to Shefs at 11 and still get a bagel, I want the old Shefs back.

First time visiting and the staff were very friendly. They even gave us a free bag of bagels because they were not going to be able to sell them since they were closing soon. I will definitely go back!!
Can’t go wrong with a bacon egg and cheese sandwich!

Stopped in from out of state not realizing it was cash only - cashier was very kind and accommodated us. Bagels are good and cream cheese is on the saltier side.

So glad I found this place! Started a new job next town over and now I have a go to for bagels! Bagels were sooooo good! Nice and chewy! Staff was very friendly, it does say cash only in the window which is a bummer because I never carry cash! The bagels are worth the $2 ATM fee!!

The bagels here are pretty good, but a few things to note. If you order something with bacon, it’s not slices — it’s more like crumbled, greasy bits. Also, they’re cash-only and don’t give receipts, so make sure to double-check your total before you leave. I was charged around $26 for 3 bagels, a small scallion cream cheese, and 3 turnovers, which seemed higher than expected.
I was rudely told cash only and told to use the ATM and had to pay $2 extra. Great service passing operating costs into your customers.
Bagels weren’t even that good honestly….
Never again….

Stopped in for the first time. Ordered a poppy seed bagel, shmear and bacon. It was not edible. It was a greasy mess. The bagel fell apart and instead of a slice of bacon they shoveled crumbled greasy bacon bits probably left on the grill. I opened the wax paper and it was oozing grease, the bagel wasn't cut and everything fell apart. Could not eat it. A waste of time and money. Never again.

Fantastic bagels but would highly encourage them to accept CCs and have iced coffee (preferably flavors/syrups). Additional indoor tables/chairs would also be great.
Delicious egg and cheese veggie bagel sandwich. Service was quick.

Ordered two dozen bagels two days in advance when I went to pick up order I was told cash only not when order was placed rudely told by cashier there’s atm over there. When arrived at my event found order was not even close to what I ordered bagels were hard, small and not very tasty I was embarrassed and disappointed chefs reputation is certainly much higher than their quality would have been better off at Stop and Shop, don’t ever embarrass yourself by comparing yourself to Bagelicious you are so out of their league it’s almost comical
