This was my first time here and I mad reservations as I didn't know what to expect on a Saturday night. The dining room was completely empty so we ate in the bar which was cozy and filled with regularsThe food was good but I was disappointed that I was previewed the menu online and 2 of the items I had my heart set on were no longer being served. They need to update the menu!

The Victorian House has more of a dive-bar atmosphere than local restaurant. It’s not a very professional establishment and it’s usually filled with “regulars” who take over the space. The food isn’t terrible but it’s also not great. We ordered the buffalo wings and French onion soup to start. The Buffalo wings were good. They were crispy but not dry. the French onion soup was made with chicken broth which isn’t my preference (French onion soup is normally made with beef broth). The soup also didn’t have many onions and the bread was extremely soggy since it probably wasn’t toasted. The French onion soup also did not come out until after our entrees were delivered. The waitress said she would make up for it by removing the soup from the bill, but then never did.About the entrees and our server… my fiancé ordered the shrimp wrap which was very mediocre, and I ordered the cheeseburger club. However, the waitress put the order in as the cheeseburger sliders. I let her know of the mistake and she sent it back. Our server wasn’t very attentive and seemed to disappear for periods of time. The restaurant wasn’t busy. The chef was nice enough to deliver the cheeseburger club to me and apologized for the inconvenience. It tasted pretty good. The fries aren’t very good. They’re really thin so they had a stale taste. We have been here a couple times before so we already had low expectations when it came to atmosphere, but after this visit we will definitely not come back.

Eight of us went to dinner on a Thursday evening. We reserved a table in the bar area but were seated elsewhere, which was fine because it was private and quite festive. My food was cold but I didn't say anything and wouldn't have left a negative review based on that. I worked in the industry as a server and bartender for over 20 years so I know things can happen. However, I am leaving a review due to the fact that AFTER I signed the credit card authorization and drew a line through the tip line, since I left more than a 20% tip in cash, that EXACTLY 20% was added to my total and taken from my bank account. Pretty sure that's theft. I have never seen such a thing in all my years of serving. I called the restaurant the next day and the lovely woman I spoke with was appalled. She took my name and number and said a manager would call me. No call. The money was returned, but how many other people could this have happened to but they never even noticed??? A phone call from management would have been appropriate and just plain good business. Shame on them. You've been warned.

Food was out of this world!!Hash was the best I ever had. Atmosphere was chill. The chef came to our table and described the menu and would make anything to order.

I'd leave minus stars for service if I could. What was supposed to be an end to an amazing day with my sister trying on dresses was awful. As 2 former servers, we were appalled by the service. The server kept making excuses for her short comings and completely disappearing. Instead of owning up to her mistakes she ignored us. She brought out 2 plates at a time for the 6 guests. But not one after the other, by the time I received my salad my daughter was basically done eating her spagetti. We had to ask for silverware so we could eat. Dressings weren't brought out for 2 of the salads. She brought out 2 orders of sweet potato fries when one was ordered but completely forgot to put in the eggplant fries. I'm guessing thats why my salad took 20 minutes to come out after all the other food.We overheard her tell another table that came in a bit after us, while she sobbed her mother passed the week before. Though I felt sorry, it was very uncomfortable to the point that table waited until she walked away and left without ordering food. After that she asked if we needed boxes, dropped them , never asked if we wanted anything else or the check then disappeared again. Finally after 10 minutes, my mother went to the bar to pay. Looking at the check she not only charged us for the eggplant fries but the 2 sweet potato ones too. When I walked into the bar, there she was laughing and talking to a table in the bar like she had no other tables. I could understand if they were busy for how long we waited for her to grace our presence but we were the only table in there besides a few guests at the bar at that time. She was just beyond unprofessional. Just as we're done paying she walks up to us surprised and was like oh you're done? I would save your money and go elsewhere. My sister and her best friend use to go there years ago and raved about this place. First and last time for us.

The chef can be heard cursing all the way from where you sit, a lot of toxic employees. Waitress was the only good thing. They didn’t have any of the food I ordered off their menu lol. My FIFTH option was finally available. Also there is a severely overweight man who sits in the middle of the place, and he gives off the most repulsive odor(didn’t think a human could smell that terrible). Just the sight of him made me sick to my stomach and lose my appetite completely. This place used to be solid, sad to see.

We ate in the bar. The bartender had the entire room and the bar. She was not a very pleasant representative of the restaurant. The meals were good.

Every single bite of every dish was an experience. Absolute magic. I went here for tgiving buffet for my family and I and was blown away at the quality, flavor, and creativity of the food. Chef Joe made traditional (some times boring) tgiving dinner into pure excellence. I am so happy we found this place and will absolutely return! What a hidden gem. Thanks chef Joe for sharing your art with us.

New chef alert yay! My sister and I had the buffalo chicken wrap and blackened shrimp wrap which came with fresh fries. Chef Mike came out to introduce himself which was very nice to see the pride he has for his delicious food! Bartender Mike made us tasty pumpkin martinis. He was running the entire bar and helping the dinner service. He's a hard worker. Would definitely come back again. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Our server, Meg, was real sweet. But, other than that, this restaurant is just a shell of what it used to be. The dining area is in desperate need of renovation, the burger my wife ordered was burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside, my Reuben was very soggy and the fries are now put in a basket (think K-Mart cafeteria in the 1980's). I saw the chef when going to the men's room. His hygiene looked horrible. I cannot see them staying open for too much longer unless there are a lot of changes made. We were the only ones there. The place was empty except for staff. Now I know why.

The food is really really good I’m slowly trying everything on the menu and I’m always impressed. Love the specials and karaoke night is a blast, talking and meeting new people makes it worth the visit.
