December 6, 2025. First time here. Excellent service, cozy and warm inside. Felt welcomed from the time stepped in. Calamari - good. Martini with blue cheese olives - fantastic. Baked haddock - very good. Blackened seafood risotto - amazing. It was busy on Saturday night, did not rushed at all. Wish we could have had dessert, too full... next time. Generous portions. Looks like they have bands on Saturday.

On the recommendation of a friend who raved about Fornarellis we drove 35 minutes on a Friday. If I could give the atmosphere a negative star I would. The floor and the table was sticky, decor was dingy. It was loud, which was surprising because there was only one other table in the dining area, but there is a bar that is separated by lattice and the noise carried.
The service was decent, the waiter was the only one with any personality.
The food…started with polenta fries and they were ok the sauce was the best thing on the plate. The Modesto salad which I was really hoping was a true mimic of the original Modestos in Yantic…it reminded me of it but missed the mark. My husband had chicken Marsala and the sauce was off. I had the lemon chicken and scallop potatoes as you can see in the picture my scallop potatoes were soaked with lemon water making them inedible. Wasn’t worth the drive or the $98 dollar bill.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a higher star rating. The atmosphere was welcoming. The waitress Ali was AMAZING. Very personable and kind. The food was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I will definitely be returning.

Had the AWESOME lunch today. Italian wedding soup, delicious simple but yummy spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs and hubby had squash ravioli. Wanted needed a bit more but, waitress was so nice and sweet!!

The service was great. We were disappointed in the food. Presentation was nice - the sauce on the lobster ravioli was very acidic. The ravioli were definitely freezer burn. The steak was good per my son and chicken parm was dry chicken and that sauce was “ok”. Had two different special menus the regular menu had many things crossed out Not terrible food but likelihood of us returning is not in the future.

The worst overall experience ever. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!
I really enjoy this place. We are regulars. Food is excellent service is great. My only concern/petpeeve is their deception with liquor. I have yet to figure out how to get whisky at the price quoted on the menu. Order it neat … extra $3 …. Order it on the rock … extra $3 …. Tell me again how I can get it at the price on the menu ???

Shout out to Ali, our server for being friendly, efficient and going above and beyond to take care of her customers. My friend and I shared two different meals at lunch last week - Ali had them served on individual plates, making sure we each got plenty of the delicious sauce on our homemade butternut squash ravioli. She never rushed us as we sat and talked, topping off our drinks when we needed it. At the end of the meal she divided the check in two, allowing us to pay individually. If you get a chance to stop by, be sure to ask for Ali!
