I was quite surprised they are not following even basic State of CT food safety laws. The young lady who platted my burger did so with her bare hand. None of the 4-5 employees I saw were wearing hairnets, hats or even aprons. That means the clothes they had on at home, they were now serving food in. It looked like an operation I would expect to see at a traveling fair vs an operation that has been operating since 1920.
Harry's is an iconic piece of Americana. The burgers are very tasty, and made fresh daily.
For a place to be around for 124 years, they must be doing something right, and Harry's is doing it right. These aren't massive burgers, more like the old-fashioned burgers you'd have found in a roadside shack in the 40s-70s. But that's exactly what Harry's is.

It was....just ok. Food is the biggest complaint - nothing had seasoning on it (3 different grilled veggies, fries, burgers), though they did ask if we wanted salt and pepper at the pickup window. Nothing wrong with service. Atmosphere is what you'd expect from this type of place.
