My husband and I have frequented Herman’s over the years- even though the seating was minimal and table seating wasn’t ideal with people at the counter butts right in your face. But we still supported local. The last three times my husband went in there alone, he would sit at the counter and buffer himself between a person on each side. The waitress on three occasions asked him to move and sit right next to one person. My husband refused, they gave attitude and now we will never go back. It surprises me that they wouldn’t want to accommodate a Partons seating preference due to the lack of ideal seating. My husband even said that in the event that a couple comes in and needs two seats together he would be willing to move over. 🙄

I am just leaving from my first experience here. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. It seems to be a local favorite because it was half full when we got there at 930 this morning and people were coming in to pick up orders or eat in the entire time we were seated. We both ordered omelettes with hash browns and toast/English muffin. We sat with our coffees and cold drinks for about 40 minutes when we were checked in with and asked if we needed anything to which we said more coffee. We waited another 15 minutes. I got up to check to see if our food was on the griddle after seeing someone served who came in after us. the waitress noticed me and asked if I needed anything to which I frustratingly said the coffee you said you’d bring us 15 minutes ago. We got our coffee and waited another ten minutes as we watched a mother daughter and baby leave who sat down just before we did, having finished their meals. So the big moment came when we were served about an hour and 15 minutes after being seated. The hashbrowns were complete mush. The omelette had quality ingredients and was cooked well but it wasn’t anything to write home about. The best part of it for me was the English muffin that was served with black edges and my friends rye “toast” was floppy. It was definitely not worth the wait. I give them a solid c and it’s the kind of place I’d go to again if I had no other choice.

Really good roadside diner. Sit at the counter or grab one of the small tables. Fabulous service and very friendly locals. Lots of lunch time take outs by the working class so that usually means something.
I would not recommend more than a group of 4 due to crowded seating, which just makes it feel more like Sunday breakfast with a big family.

Wheelchair accessibility: They will do everything to accommodate you but difficult to get a large wheelchair in and out. Walkers have no issues.
