04.01.25- 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' Ep.74 Ft. Apathy 💣Oz N' Bones BBQ💣 43 Hayward Ave Town of Colchester, CT Let me start out by saying, Oz N' Bone earned the Bomb 💣 as a whole so let me explain why. They are located just off the main road, and Behind another building on Hayward Ave in the Town of Colchester but it is an Amazing BBQ spot!! I should have dropped in a few months ago because they have it all! The atmosphere is exactly what you expect when going to a great BBQ Spot located in a Historic building. Minutes after our food was served the lovely Owner named Diane came over to our table and we had a great conversation for a few minutes then she moved on to the other 3 tables occupied with guests. ❤️ Let's get into the food now: Al Ordered 1. Beef Brisket Sandwich $12.00 💣 2. OZ Combo Plate $22.00 💣 St. Louis Ribs 💣 & Pulled Pork 💣 Macaroni & Cheese 👍🏾and Coleslaw👎🏾 AP Ordered 1. OZ Half Chicken Plate $22.00 💣 Coleslaw 👎🏾& Collard Greens💣 The Beef Brisket Sandwich was huge with pickled onions, pickled Jalapenos and house made Chipotle Sriracha sauce, it was the bomb! 💣 Bombs went to the St. Louis Ribs and Pulled pork as well!! Their BBQ is the bomb! AP and I both agreed that the Coleslaw is just bland chopped up cabbage so it earned the only thumbs 👎🏾. AP rated his chicken and the Collard Greens Bombs💣💣 and he also tried everything I ordered and loved it as he said in the 'Reel Review'. I repeat, Oz N' Bones is The Bomb 💣 They are serving Top Notch BBQ at a much lower price than the competition!! This spot is absolutely amazing!! Oz N' Bones are Now my #1 BBQ spot in the State of CT!! Yep!! 💣 You need to get your a** down there right away and try Oz N' Bones out!!💣💣💣 Note: You can look forward to many more 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' 😎 See you on the rebound, Peace ✌🏾 out ☝🏾❤️ -Big Al Mayo
Excellent food. Pescatarian/vegetarian in party struggled. Limited to fried cauliflower, cornbread or slaw. Service is mostly self.
Vegetarian options: Very limited.

Amazing food and service! We all got the Mac Attack, collard greens, and cornbread. The sandwiches were so filling and delicious.

The service was excellent, sides were pretty ok, but the brisket and burnt ends were inedible. Let's start with the brisket. For some reason it was smashed up and served in a pile instead of sliced. No options between point and flat. No bark, the world's tiniest smoke ring and not one speck of fat to be seen. It was as dry, tough and tasteless as an overcooked pot roast. The burnt ends were so hard and chewy, I could not pierce it with my fork. To be completely fair, I lived in Texas for several years so my bar is pretty high. But even by New England standards, this was just a shame. I don't know who convinced the owner that their bbq was restaurant worthy, but maybe rethink your bbq game.

The food was so good and they gave decent portions! I'm obsessed with burnt ends and these did not disappoint. The woman that helped us at the order counter was lovely and made the whole experience great!

Ordered take out for the first time and it was absolutely delicious!!! Maple bourbon sauce…..OMG! Sooo good!
Have eaten there twice and it is very good. Try the burnt ends! The portion size is good. I didn't like their collards but then, they are hard to cook just right. The apple dessert is served with fresh whipped cream and delicious. The restaurant itself is meticulous, perfectly clean surfaces. The staff was extremely professional, worth a big tip. But the stars are really for the food. Once you try it, you will be back often.

Everything is perfect!!!! I haven't had such good pulled pork in such a long time. I had it in the pulled pork sandwich and the callard greens on the side. The people there are incredibly nice. I'm definitely going there again

Sadly disappointing and expensive food. Had Mac Attack, Frito pie, corn bread with maple butter and crispy apple pie - threw it away, not even edible. Very bland, wasted $45. Should have been a clue when walked in and no BBQ smell.
It was very good! Burnt ends delicious my husband said to much sauce but I loved it! Told him next time ask for less sauce! Side dishes were a good size Mac n cheese can I say yummy!

Food was decent, bbq didn’t have much flavor and not a place I’d go back too. Lady behind the counter who took my order was incredibly rude, must’ve been having a bad day.

It was our first time at this establishment and was pleasantly decorated and a nice atmosphere. Very clean including the bathrooms.
The meat is smoked out back, pretty cool to see.
We ordered a 2 meat plate with 2 sides; pulled chicken and brisket slaw and Mac n cheese and ordered baked baked beans. The food was tasty, the Mac n cheese was awesome. However, the food was luke warm at best and the brisket was dry.

They are very friendly and helpful great service their food is the absolute best food in all of colchester it comes really close to being better than homemade food! They have moderate prices but it's soooooo worth it I love and highly recommend their nachos and Mac attack sandwiches! They also have really good soda and drink options a very chill friendly atmosphere ?. Kid friendly and a menu for the kids.

I’m sorry but the food has gone way too far downhill… The people working the counter were awesome as always, this is by no means a bad service review. The food however was a joke brisket tasted like it was made in a crockpot. I’ve had smokier, more flavorful pot roast than that. The ribs were tough and the taste was once again lacking smoke and FLAVOR! If your cooks need a lesson I’m happy to show them how to make some ribs… only saving grace was the sauce I could drown it in to make it close to edible..
