Scotties Frozen Custard

The ownership must have changed. The menu is unfortunately not as good as before. The hot dog was BEYOND salty! The curly fries were a minimal amount and the oil they were fried in didn’t taste very good. Service was minimal too. We had to get in line for a straw, the sandwich spilled out watery sauce on my hubby’s pants bc it wasn’t wrapped up properly and there was no blue cheese that was supposed to go with the sandwich. It’s going down hill. I don’t think we will be back at this point!

Really no flavor asked for custard got a scooped ice cream consistancy. Not the best. Was so much better years ago.

Hysen, the owner is such a great guy and all of his employees go above and beyond. Such great food and great ice cream.

Scotties is a road side stand in Central Connecticut. The clam strips were good and so was the ice cream. The chocolate fudge was plentiful.

First time there and first time having frozen custard. It was excellent. A nice treat. Also had the sweet potato fries which were delicious. Will definitely go back again.

I use to tell everyone that there were two great places for ice cream. Scotties and Buttonwoids. My girlfrind and I went out to Scotties on Monday for one of there fantastic Sundes. Well we were disappointed. we both got our usual they were still very tasty, but noticed they went up in price by about 2.00 each. That's not the problem. I get it everything has gone up a few bucks, I have no issue paying for something as good as good food and snacks. The issue I had the size of the Sundes were at least 1/3 smaller. These owners can't have it both ways. It will be a while before I go back. I will not spout off they are worth it. Buttonwoods also went up in price, but they didn't go down in size. Buttonwoods will now be my choice over Scotties.

Overall wonderful first experience, stopped by after work on my way home for a quick treat and I got a small chocolate custard ? it was delicious and I loved the different areas to sit.

My summer-long search for Connecticut roadside eateries led me to a beautiful location today and some tasty food!

Scottie's Frozen Custard offers a variety of lunch options at a decent price. Sadly, I did not save room for a frozen custard, so I guess I must return soon... ;)

Today, I ordered the 6 ounce Angus burger, Fries Frenzy (seasoned, breaded fries), and large soft drink. Honestly, this would be my new nomination for best burger in Connecticut. And possibly best french fries, as well. Delicious! It came to $16 and change, which is comparable, given the larger burger.

Eat here once, and you will be a customer for life!!!

This is a fantastic place that we will continue to revisit throughout the summer. Great fast friendly service. Always great food. That's why it's worth the 35 minute drive for us.

Scotties is the best! If you love good grill food scotties is the place to go. Everything is cooked to order, and you will not be let down! This is a summer staple in my life!

I go to Scottie’s a bunch being fortunate to live nearby. I ordered dinner online for takeout tonight after a long day, and pulled in to a packed house. All the staff was still extremely friendly, the food was superbly prepared, and my order was ready early despite the rush. The people who run this stand, from the cooks down to those who wash dishes, are fantastic and extremely pleasant. Highly highly recommend!
