La Bistro is a dependable and comfortable dining spot in downtown Cos Cob, Greenwich. It is a total favourite in the neighbourhood and an amazing addition, checking all the boxes with an incredible menu, fabulous space, great bar, and interesting specials. The ambiance is warm and relaxed with an excellent vibe, making it an easy place to sit and talk.
The food is phenomenal, delicious, and consistent. Favourite items include the 1930's Rachel sandwich, the cheeseburger, the pot roast ragu, the Baja tostada, and the bistro caesar schnitzel. A surprise was the super fluffy pancake, noted as fresh and full of flavor. However, it is the dessert that truly makes the night and creates a special experience. The Tangerine and Ube mousses are a memorable highlight with clean, refined presentation and smooth texture.
Service is steady, unobtrusive, super kind, super attentive, and excellent. La Bistro is a solid, reliable local spot that gets the fundamentals right, but its desserts give you a reason to come back. It is by far a favorite food spot and a must try.
