I recently celebrated my birthday at Hibachi Sushiya, and it was an unforgettable experience! The chef was absolutely incredible—fun, talented, and went above and beyond to make our night special. The cooking show was both entertaining and impressive, and the chef's skill was clear in every move. From flaming onion volcanoes to his perfectly timed jokes, he kept us laughing and amazed the whole night.
The food was just as outstanding. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the hibachi dishes were cooked to perfection right in front of us. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday celebration, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing food and a truly fun dining experience!

We were greeted right at the door, and as soon as we sat down, our drinks arrived immediately! The customer service was a perfect 10/10. The atmosphere was great, the soup was fantastic, and the salad was fresh and crunchy. All the food tasted incredibly fresh with amazing flavors. I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for a fun and flavorful dining experience, I highly recommend Hibachi Sushi Ya! The place is huge, with plenty of parking available. They offer a variety of seating options, including hibachi tables, a bar, and a traditional dining area. I loved the cute koi pond you see right when you walk in—it really sets a nice vibe. My friend and I did the hibachi experience and started with cocktails. She got a lychee martini, and I went for a Pom Passion Margarita—both were fantastic. We also shared two sushi rolls for appetizers, which were fresh and tasty (check out the pictures I’ve attached, though I can’t recall the names of the rolls). Our hibachi chef was super entertaining and skilled, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. My friend had the Seafood Delight hibachi entree while I ordered the shrimp and scallop hibachi entrée, and I was really pleased with my meal—the shrimp and scallops were perfectly cooked. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the evening, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for delicious food and a lively atmosphere, this is definitely a spot worth visiting!
The food is actually pretty good. I am putting a one star because I was harassed for a tip. Normally, I wait for the service to be completed to provide a tip. I had to sign a receipt and I put $0 because I was tipping in the app. The delivery man became aggressive and refused to leave my office without a tip written on the receipt when I clearly stated I will tip in the app. He then called the store due to language barrier and I explained to the woman the tip will be provided on grubhub. She proceeded to tell me it’ll be easier to write it on the receipt and they send a picture to grubhub which didn’t make sense at all. I told her I prefer to do it in the app and she instructed the man to leave. This happened right in my office and all my coworkers heard him getting aggressive. This was not a pleasant experience and very embarrassing. A tip is earned but to harass someone and get aggressive was uncalled for. Especially when that person was already planning on tipping. I will not be ordering from here again no matter how good the food was. You should always respect your customers and understand a tip is not mandatory.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews so I will be brief. The service was not good, actually incredibly bad. The food was just ok. You’re better off going to wild rice on route 7 or Kiku sushi in Stamford. If the business replies I will update and elaborate. If they know any better they will not. I will not be back here and I don’t suggest you come in the first place.UPDATE: business replied but looks like they deleted their response. I will not be coming back. I was told not to come back. Hours long wait for simple food with no explanation only to be hit with a mandatory tip is a slap in the face. I always tip 20% regardless of service I receive (which is generous considering tips are OPTIONAL) but to be forced into a 15% tip under bad circumstances is completely disrespectful. You would have received 20% had you not made a scene when I questioned what the charge was even for (they label it somewhat confusing) and comparing that Manhattan often does this at 18% is completely irrelevant considering nowhere in this state does a mandatory tip apply to a party of TWO.The disrespect I received from you was borderline harassment. Following me out to me car was legitimate harassment. I could have called the police and had you arrested for your behavior.In conclusion, do not come here. I will go out of my way to make sure no one I know ever makes the mistake of coming to your establishment. I’ve ordered takeout here multiple times and never had an issue and was excited to try coming in person. I deeply regret ever supporting this business and I am quite honestly shocked that this behavior is allowed.Take your business elsewhere. Do not come here.
