Staff was spot on from the time we came thru door till be paid our check. Joe came out of kitchen and welcomed us to his restaurant. Really comfortable seating and table arrangement. All six of our meals and appetizers were very delicious. Food and service were excellent. Our new go to restaurant.
Friendly staff, especially the guy doing the pizzas (same guy for years :-)).) Prices a bit high - but it's Darien We used to frequent a lot but the quality of the tomato base on the pizza got so variable we stopped going (very salty/gone off - after the third pizza was 'bad' we said that's it not frequenting there again) Restaurant section was and still is in need of rip out and redo - you almost lose a shoe walking over the floor to your table Pasta and meals in the restaurant in general are good 'red sauce joint food' but the quality isn't good enough

Pizza was fresh and delicious. I grew up in the New Haven area and I know Apizza. I've spent my life eating the best Apizza around. Peppe's, Modern and Zuppardi's..Its very rear that I'd classify a Pizza ? restaurant with an Apizza rating. Usually I'd just say that place made a pretty good Pizza ?. However when I discover that I'm eating Apizza I must call it out. The pie was delicious and and had all the qualities that are found in an Apizza. The doe and crust were the right texture and the sauce as well .Pappa Joe's should proud that they're an effective above most.Two thumbs ? ? up for Pappa Joe's. Glad to know there's Apizza in Darien. Will be going back again
