I have been going to Rory’s for literally decades, and can’t believe I’m writing this. I had not been for awhile, so I was really looking forward to taking a friend there for lunch. Starting with the lobster bisque, which had one bite of lobster and a few small rubbery shrimp, would have had no taste at all if not for the sherry we added. I don’t know how you screw up a Cobb salad but it was inedible, I actually sent it back. The chicken was so rubbery you couldn’t even bite it, and it was so covered in onions that that was its only flavor. Never heard of Bermuda onion on a Cobb before, and my sister is a restaurant critic. The Peremidh used to be our favorite thing on the menu. It was hard, dry an a quarter of the size it was last year. Even the French fries were inedible.. I don’t get out very often anymore and this was supposed to be a special day, turned into a major disappointment. Very sad.

I have to say their food is amazing, the Debbie's chicken is great and I really enjoyed their clam chowder but that's about where good ends. Always a line and once you sit costumer service is always slow. Also the restaurant is tiny and packed tight.

This place is a local joint for sure. Feels like you need to be a 5th generation local, but still they're friendly. It also looks like the decor hasn't been touched in decades, but it gets by on a good menu with reliable cooking. French onion soup is good. Hamburger, crab sandwich and pastrami Rueben come with the right amount of grease that won't leave you sick. One thing is that the calamari is not fried nor cut in the traditional rings. While tasty, it was off putting to some.

Dont know what happened to Rory's (hadn't been there in probably 10 years and used to love it), but my gosh, it's changed. Came for a late lunch. The inside is very rundown, and not in a charming way. Neither our server nor the bartender had any warmth or friendliness whatsoever. Almost seemed disappointed that we walked in. A cup of lobster bisque that had absolutely no lobster flavor whatsoever was $9. The reuben was so greasy I had to grab bevnaps from the bar to try to soak up the grease. Fries were terrible. Rory's used to be a REALLY great place, but now it's just very rundown with indifferent staff and bad food. Sad.

A cozy (small but nice) place on Rt. 1 in Darien. Hit or miss menu items - some very good and reasonable, others meh and overpriced. Italian grilled chicken sandwich was a hit but chicken salad plate was ordinary at best, and way overpriced. Might come back but would only stick with limited number of items on their menu. Service was friendly and good but it wasn't busy at all. When it is busy I can't imagine what parking must be like because the lot is very tiny.

Good food and menu, service is good once seated. Small interior resulting in sometimes crowded standing room with long waits. Love the Lobster Bisque.

We absolutely loved this place. Sat in the bar which is small and cozy. I think there were less than 10 seats. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. We had a cobb salad that was one of the best we ever had. Very large, so split it. Friendly people at the bar and we had a great time. Will definitely go back again.

Local pub like restaurant with outside patio on the Post Road. Classic dishes (incl. best clam chowder ever and lobster bisque twice a week) such as burgers and sandwiches/salads plus daily specials of meat and fish dishes, all of which are excellent. Very friendly service. Highly recommended.
