My wife and I have frequented Tengda for many years. Generally speaking we've enjoyed it. But this past Saturday night was a terrible experience. They had 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. We waited 30+ minutes for appetizers, then another 30+ minutes for entrees. The food was cold both times. We ordered glasses of white wine - they were served in tiny juice glasses. I've heard of portion control, but this was ridiculous. Very disappointed, not what we would expect from Tengda.

Great service and amazing food! We ordered the dumpling sampler which had 3 different types of dumplings. A great way to start off the meal. We also ordered the magical roll and general tso’s chicken. The magical roll was fresh and flavorful. One of the best sushi I’ve had in Fairfield county. The sauce for the general tso’s chicken was also fresh and of quality; unlike the sauce you’d typically have in Chinese takeout. The staff was attentive and welcoming; making our dining experience momentous.

Ordered from this place multiple times and this time around, I am furious. My receipt came very high and I called to ask why the prices on my receipt don’t match my paper menu that they always attach to an order and the online menu. The manager stated that inflation has caused a change in prices and “there’s a sign at the register stating prices are subject to change”. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT THEN.He refused to listen to my frustration on why they keep delivering the old menu without printing new ones.Be aware when you order from this place. Completely dishonest and a terrible way of doing business. Mind you, I’ve been ordering take out from them for a long time with the same menu’s coming back to me.Also- how can someone see the sign at your register if they chose a delivery option? I will not be ordering from them anymore.Regarding the owner’s comment below- explain to me how you would like me to “direct message”’you. On what platform? Perhaps provide me an email? I already spoke to the manager who was rude and dismissive.If you wanted my feedback, you would provide me a means of communication.Thank you.

Having been our local favorite for sushi rolls for many years were were most disappointed with our last meal at Tengda in Westport. The tempura crab inside our roll was precooked, tough and cold and the presentation and lack of the usual standard and flair was just missing. I know many places suffered with covid specific issues, however it is time to pick quality back up especially with increased pricing.
