I absolutely love this place and the staff! Every time I walk in and order pasta, they hand-cut it right on the spot. There's no attitude here—just friendly faces that make you feel like family. The breads are incredible, and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful local gem nearby. The red pepper pasta is simply the best. Thank you 8 Mile!

I'm that type of person who loves sourdough bread. I even frequent restaurants that serve sourdough bread. Recently, I started buying loaves of sourdough at a wonderful little farm in Chester, then decided to go directly to the bakery that makes it for them, which is 8 Mile Meadow Bread & Pasta in Deep River.
They call it their "Vermont Sourdough".
It is, without a doubt, the best, most flavorful sourdough I've ever had - amazing stuff. And when wrapped carefully, it lasts much longer than other commercially made and marketed sourdough loaves, which tend to become brick-hard pretty quickly.
I can't say enough about how wonderful 8 Mile Meadow's sourdough bread is - excellent!! I come all the way from Guilford for it. Now I'd better shut up, so they don't run out before I get there next week!

Some of the best bread I have had...comparable to Hungry Ghost in Northampton and Standard Bakery in Portland ME. Not just bread, great scones, cookies and sweet rolls. We haven't had the pastas and other things but they really do use the best ingredients and take their time with their yeast and sourdough breads. A true hidden gem.

I found this place through word of mouth. I live 45min away and try to stop in and stock up. The bread and pasta is very fresh and you can taste the difference of the quality ingredients. Their sourdough is perfect for grilled cheese and the bagels are mi favorite. I wish I lived closer to come here more often. Great job!!

I figured it was time to write a review since I can barely go a week without stopping in here to try something new. Everything is created with such care. Best bread, scones, cookies, brownies, etc. that I’ve ever

Fantastic sourdough! The scones are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The porridge bread is my go to for morning toast although you can’t go wrong with any of them. Well done!

An absolute hidden gem! It’s hard to put into words the amount of talent that exists in this bakery, so my best suggestion is to try it for yourself!

The absolute best! Its hard to find a great bread bakery on or close to the shoreline, and 8 Mile is second to none! Order online early to make sure you get what you want!
Best breads and cookies this side of the Triborough Bridge. Super nice people. Get the frozen cookie dough and make ‘em at home!

Best bakery in Connecticut. The owner clearly has pride in her craft. Pastries, baguettes, pretzels, cookies, and sourdough are all amazing. I will be a regular here for sure.
Amazing bread. They also use local sustainable grain in all their bread which warms my heart. I also tried their pasta, cinnamon buns, bagels, and chetzels and they were all incredible. A new favorite weekend drive.
Only place that I could buy Hot Cross Buns without citrus fruit they
Always great. Pain de mie rocks!
8 Mile Meadow is the best bread, bagle, and pasta shop! Cinnamon rolls are divine, really anything from Jess's shop is outstanding. Run, don't walk, thursday-saturday. I order online so that I know I am going to have a Cinnamon raisin bagle for breakfast the next day. Or on the drive home :)
