We never travel along the Connecticut River, but a visitor wanted to visit Essex and Gillette Castle. We stopped here for a quick bite between destinations. What a great surprise. I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches ever. My wife and visitor each had the bacon and cheese sandwich and raved about them. We seldom come to Deep River, but will be sure to stop here if we do.

Our crew has been working across the street for months! I came in twice this week to get lunch for the team- Sharon and the rest of the staff were great, helped me load my haul into the car! They had 5 monster sandwiches ready to go in about 20 minutes.
The food itself is phenomenal! All the parm subs are great, chicken cutlets are made to perfection. I live down on the coast and am planning on driving the 40 minutes next time I need a good sandwich!
When I'm in the area I always stop here for lunch .The food is fantastic .The portions are very generous and as an extra the woman that runs the place is a cutie.
