Local place with a down to earth atmosphere. The staff is great and it's my daughter's favorite restaurant.

Enjoyed breakfast on our way home from Old Saybrook. Small restaurant with very friendly staff and great food. Seemed very popular with locals which usually is a sign of good food at reasonable prices. Good place to try.

Called ahead to check serving hours. We walked 20 min w dog to be told they were too busy and wouldn't serve us. I mentioned I called 20 min ago and it would hv been nice to know. Server reluctantly said "Ok, fine I'll serve you".We went outside and she said only inside and no dogs so I can't serve you. No apologies just attitude. A Cee You Next Tuesday and KMA experience. And we've been in DR 12 yrs. No excuse for that.

They have great specials with a lot of different options to choose from. The biscuits and sausage gravy were excellent. I would definitely come here again!

Love, love the food and staff of this fabulous breakfast lunch restaurant!Great specials. The sausage and biscuits best in CT.The homemade muffins and breads out of this world! My favorite is the Cinnabon bread. Yum!Outdoor seating if you have a dog with you.Right on Main St, Deep River if you want to pop in one of the local stores after very nice unique gifts and clothing.

Had a wonderful lunch of cheeseburger and onion rings with my brother recently and it was fantastic... The staff (George and Sarah especially) were friendly and funny. I recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for classic breakfast - lunch meals in the diner tradition!

Horrifically overpriced and very greasy breakfast. Got a side of corned beef hash for nine dollars and it was only a half a cup portion. Our waitress could've been a little nicer as well. Extremely long wait time for two omelettes with only two other groups of people inside.

The best breakfast we have had in YEARS. This is a real hometown diner - nothing pretentious. Counter-and-stool seating plus both indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating. Even a few old fashioned booths!Food is homestyle like you would have had 30 years ago. OK, I did see avacado one time on the menu, but nowhere near the word "toast". Eggs benedict was the BEST we have had - the hollandase is thick and rich, covering a perfectly poached pair of eggs. Old fashined homefries and regular brewed coffee served and refilled in a regular sized mug!Bisucits and sausage gravy was a special on the board, but they only make so much, it was out by 10:30. Go early if that is your desire!Service is perfect.Best part - three of us got out for $40 for breakfast, with plendy in a to-go box.Dog-friendly outdoors. While you are there, check out two great local shops (Anchor & Compass, Compass Rose, Bennetts Books) all within sight.Go, you will be happy. Easily worth an hour drive on a Sunday. Within 10 minutes of Old Saybrook.Kid-friendliness: Kiddo-friendly menu.Parking: Parking on street or on weekends use the neighboring school.
